The Lodge in the Pines is an outdoor lover's dream! A picture is indeed worth a thousand words so take a look, and you'll see. A stone's throw from the Chesapeake Bay and First Landing State Park and within walking distance of dining, coffee, nightlife, groceries, and more. Easy access to the interstate and the airport; perfectly located whether you are traveling for work or pleasure. Terrific for an individual or couple looking for a completely relaxing getaway, or for the business traveler.

The space
I have the good fortune to live in my own little woods, surrounded by tall pines and live oaks! Out of every window you see leaves of green, and in the spring, azaleas and dogwoods in bloom. It feels like being in a tree house. The room you will stay in is downstairs, on the same floor as the living room and kitchen, with adjacent private bath. You'll have a full size bed, dresser, closet, comfy chair and work space within those four walls. On my front porch there is a big rocker and a built in bench, under the low hanging branches of my dogwood tree, the perfect place for end of day relaxation. Your sunrise oriented window has a natural awning of live oak branches, in case you want to sleep in.

Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States

Cape Story by the Sea is the slice of paradise that I call home, and my wonderful neighbors will make you feel at home too! The bike and walking path goes directly into Seashore/First Landing State Park where you will find miles and miles of trails amid the pines and cypress. Head in the other direction down the path and you can walk to the Lynnhaven Coffee Company, Simple Eats, and more!

I am a nature lover who loves taking photographs and I am continually treated to photo opportunities of the natural kind! I am in awe of our skies, captivated by what I see on and from the shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay, as well as on the trails in the nearby First Landing State Park and Pleasure House Point. I capture moments in time with my camera, including local wildlife, sometimes from my kitchen window! I tell the stories of my photographs and sell them at local art events as well as at a few awesome local venues. I have the incredibly good fortune to live in a stand of tall pines, with live oaks and dogwoods, in a neighborhood called Cape Story by the Sea. This is the lovely slice of paradise I call home. I am within a stone's throw of the beach at the Chesapeake Bay, and a short hike or bike ride to First Landing, also known as Seashore, State Park.
