A Peaceful Place near the city centre in a quiet street.
10-15min walk to Newcastle Beach & 5-10mins walk to the cafe precinct on Darby Street. A peaceful place for women to rest write or explore this lovely part of the world!! You really don't need a car if you love walking and want to explore this beautiful city and it's beaches and the surrounding regions.

The space

I love living here because it's near the beach, it's quiet. There is a flight of 12 stairs to the top floor.

The bed is a single sized day bed with a very thick comfortable 20cm mattress.

There is a Infusion700 blender for juices or smoothies, a beautiful Italian frying pan (special instructions on arrival!) and Renna Ware saucepans that I have had for a long time and of course toaster and kettle.

There is a fan for summer days and nights and a heater for winter.

I have a variety of teas and instant coffee and room for your food in the fridge and freezer.

There are Coles, Woolworths, Big W and move at Marketown Shopping Centre as well as a convenience store in Darby Street.

I use incense and burn candles and I live a peaceful life. I go to bed early around 9pm and I wake around 5pm and leave the house for walk and swim before work..

You have access to your room the bathroom and kitchen..the lounge room is my office so you have a small comfy recliner in your room to relax.

There is NO television however you can easily walk to the Tower Cinema in King Street or drive to others.

There are DVDs and books in your room for you to watch too.

The laundry is a shared laundry with my own washing machine and you are welcome to use my laundry liquid.

There is NO access to my WiFi..I don't have enough GB. The library and several cafes a short walk away..

Guest access

You will have full access to the kitchen, bathroom and your bedroom. There is NO lounge room as it is my office, but you do have a small recliner in your room.

There is NO WiFi internet available as I have limited data however there are many Darby St cafes with WiFi...Newcastle Library is only 10mins walk away...

Interaction with guests

I love Newcastle! And I am more than happy to talk to you about beautiful Newcastle and beyond and help you with information to get about.

I will be here during your stay as this is my home.

Shirley Anne's place is great for a getaway - super close to Darby Street. I was lucky to be there on my own - the room has everything you need and a big window for breeze.

Homey and comfortable stay in serene surrounds. Shirley is a beautiful warm soul who helped made my stay in Newcastle an interesting one by giving tips on walking areas (stunning sea views near her flat) and happy to chitchat over cuppa & yum (healthy) chocolate spiders. Highly recommend to those wanting a quick & quiet coastal getaway.
