We (group of 7 adults) decided to stay at the cottage for one night to celebrate a birthday by visiting the nearby Aradale Lunatic Asylum for a spooky tour. As the asylum was only a 15 minute drive away, the cottage seemed to offer the best value. We were pleasantly surprised by the charm of the cottage, which was clean and inviting with an old-colonial feel. The simple breakfast supplies provided were a very nice touch, that allowed us to stick around the Seppelt grounds in the morning for a tour of the winery (which we highly recommend). The hosts are very friendly and hospitable. I would definitely stay at the cottages again.

Lovely, cozy place to stay. Nothing fancy but it has everything you need. Highly recommend the tour of the underground winery cellars.

A unique experience! The cottage is the original homestay of the first settlers during the gold rush, and you can sense that for the moment you arrive. The cottage is a few meters from the history Seppelt cellar doors, on the winery grounds. If you do not do a tour with the amazing staff, and learn the history of the vineyard, its owners and the caves below. Then you are a fool.

Hi Nicholas, Thanks for the lovely review. I appreciate the feedback and will make sure we act on the wash up facilities :-) No problem with the mess (a lot better than some). Cheers Bruce

Overall the accommodation was comfortable but we were slightly disappointment about the lack of kitchen facilities. The bedrooms and bathroom (across the courtyard) could have been cleaner also. We wouldn't recommend this for business purposes but more for families on a budget or travellers.
