Operating and licensed since 1996,The Laurel is a beautiful 2-story 1924 home located in the heart of Mid-City. The New Orleans Jazz Festival and the Endymion Mardi Gras Parade are a 10-minute walk. The French Quarter is a 10-minute drive.

The space

The suite is beautifully decorated with an eclectic mix of antiques and fun furniture. The bedroom has an iron queen bed and a beautiful mahogany amoire. The sunroom has a fun décor of Asian teakwood hand-carved furniture. It also features a full-size innerspring pull out sleeper/sofa. The sunroom is flooded with natural sunlight streaming in through the tall windows on every wall.

Two cats, Ranger and Billy, reside at the Laurel.

The raised front porch and the front courtyard-style patio is wonderful and a great place to just sit and do nothing. The corner lot offers a beautiful view of the peaceful surroundings of the neighborhood.

Guests can enjoy City Park's Museum of Art, botanical gardens and new walking park.

Laura and Eliot are the fifth and current owners of this 1924 raised cottage-style house. They both have professional careers; Laura is an Engineer and Eliot is a staff photographer for the local newspaper, The Advocate. Ranger is the resident cat whose main job is to do nothing when he's not sleeping.

Come join us and enjoy the experience of being "At Home in New Orleans" with Laura and Eliot.

This is my go-to place to stay when I'm in town. This home is so beautiful, it embodies New Orleans style so well. It is in the beautiful area of mid-city, close to city park with its gorgeous oak trees everywhere and easy access to get uptown, downtown, to the interstate or catch the streetcar down to the quarter. Skip the hotels, the expensive parking and crowds and spend your holiday here out on the patio in this lovely neighborhood. Laura and Elliot are gracious hosts and their home tells such an amazing story.

We enjoyed our stay at the Laurel Bed & Breakfast very much. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and within walking distance of City Park as well as the trolley which travels to the French Quarter. Our host, Eliot was very knowledgeable and helpful in providing information about places to visit and getting around the area. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious.

Laura was so nice and friendly. She was very accomodating regarding the check-in; she even drove from a party on new years eve to meet us when we arrived. She was also very accomodating to our breakfast preferences and she gave us a lot of great advise on what to see and where to eat during our stay in NOLA. The house was in itself very interesting with a lot of art and photographs. All in all, it was a great stay!
