Looking for a cozy, quiet, creekside getaway? Our cabin is on the banks of the Upper Cibolo Creek with all the country has to offer - starry night skies, wildlife, birds, a bubbling creek - with the comfort of a queen-sized bed, a kitchenette, and wifi. Come celebrate a special occasion, visit quaint Texas towns, or just get away for some peace and quiet. The cabin is just minutes from downtown Boerne and under an hour driving to Bandera, Comfort, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, and San Antonio.

The space

The cabin is a 300-square-foot, completely renovated 1960s hunting cabin with a covered porch. When built, it was just a screened-in cabin without plumbing. We have since renovated it into a cozy, inviting, comfortable space that reflects the Hill Country location. Three of the interior walls are vintage beadboard, and the kitchen counters are made of salvaged longleaf yellow pine. The cabin now features a bathroom, kitchenette, ductless air conditioning/heat system, a high-efficiency stacked washer and dryer, and a queen-sized bed with pillow-top mattress and 500 thread count pima cotton sheets. The bathroom features a glass shower stall, fluffy spa bath towels, toiletries, and a pine bench.

Guest access

You'll have access to the entire cabin and covered porch. Chairs overlooking the creek, just steps off the porch, are also yours to enjoy. You will also have access to the creek which is ankle to knee deep, suitable for wading and sitting, not swimming, still very refreshing in summer heat!)

Other things to note

It's not unusual to see lots of wildlife on a daily basis - deer, turkeys, armadillos, and countless birds. We've identified vireos, tanagers, buntings, canyon wrens, kingfishers, and golden cheeked warblers. Also, given the near-consistent Texas droughts, we practice water conservation and ask all guests to be mindful of their water usage while staying at the cabin.

This is a hidden jewel! The cabin was wonderful, and the porch was perfect! We enjoyed a glass of wine while listening to the evening sounds, and a great cup of coffee the next morning. We lost track of all of the deer we saw! If you are looking for a great place to unplug, this place will do the trick!

We had a great stay here! Cabin was super cute and nice. Only complaint would be that the shower leaked a little but other than that no complaints! Would definitely return!

Response from Kim:
Thanks for sharing Allison. A bit of silicone caulk has fixed the shower!

The place was great. The cabin is very clean and beautiful on the inside. Outside there are plenty of places to sit and relax. You can build a fire if the weather conditions allow (we even got help from the host!) or you can sit on the porch and drink coffee in the morning with the creek in the background. 10 out of 10 would go back.

This place was amazing! My girlfriend and I booked this place as a getaway anniversary and ended up loving it! Communication with Kim before the trip was great and when we showed up, David, showed us around and then we were set to do what we pleased. The space was absolutely sparkling clean and we enjoyed using the stocked kitchenette to cook some steaks and fixins to go along with it. Overall, amazing place and will be staying again.

This is such a great place for a relaxing getaway! It was very comfortable, clean, and well-designed with lots of character. Great size and lots of natural light. The porch is especially perfect for morning coffee. It was quiet and tucked away but within a short distance from either Boerne or Comfort. Kim and her husband were very welcoming. We’d love to stay here again!

Absolutely loved the Cabin by the Creek. We were personally greeted by Kim and David, and given a tour of the grounds and cabin. The cabin is the cutest getaway, and exactly what we were looking for on a long weekend. It came appointed with some fabulous snacks and drinks to get is started, and the coffee beans & French Press were a nice touch. The Cabin on the Creek is the best of both worlds, combining remote rustic chic with modern accommodations that could be compared to even the finest hotel. It's out in the country, yet not too far from town We can't wait to come back!

Interaction with guests

We may be next door in the main house (about 100 yards away) or we may be traveling to visit our three kids. However, we'll always have help on hand if necessary.
