In the Byron Bay Hinterland, 20 minutes from the beach & Byron, wake up to the sunrise & views over the valley & the Pacific Ocean in the comfort of the Bay Room in the Den. This is a very unique & the ultimate mountain top jungle fantasy!!
Together with our adorable new listing called the 'Treepod' which I might add is somewhere you should surely consider, it has an added advantage of being completely independent & not to mention includes satellite TV.
Get picked up in our fab all terrain vehicle from the pick up point & car park nearby at the bottom of the mountain and get taken on a jungle Safari through giant forests to the top of the mountain half an hour from Byron Bay. 4WD access is required as it is a 3.6kms ride from the Car Park nearby to reach the pinnacle of this most unique wilderness area.
Wake up to the Golden Sunrise over the vast ocean perched on top of a Mountain, at the end of a valley in a secret giant forest overlooking the majestic Pacific; is a place called 'Kinabalu', home of the Spirits. "The Treehouse" has been a name that guests have called & it has stuck. :) The abode of peace & tranquility.
Surrounded by a Rainforest Sanctuary & Nature Reserve, you have absolute privacy and one of the most extraordinary locations of the area. This is a (nature) lovers retreat with pristine walks into old growth forest or swimming in the sparkling secluded waterfalls so make sure you bring your walking shoes.
The Den is a small cosy self- contained room, with Kitchenette, anteroom & toilet facilities. It has a view that is absolutely breathtaking. Wireless broadband Internet is provided & an awesome 5 channel sound system. A much loved feature of the den is the outdoor shower where you can take in the breathtaking surrounds while you wash!! (An indoor shared bathroom is available) A second bed is provided in the form of cushions arranged as a mattress together with a donna & pillow.
A 4 wheel drive is necessary to reach the 'Treehouse' so all transport to & from the Lodge is provided from the pick up & point & car park, if need be. So if you intend to come to Byron just to savour the cosmopolitan atmosphere, you should stay in Byron Bay town. However transport to & from can be provided from Byron Bay or the airport if you wish for a fee, $30 from Byron Bay or $50 from the airport. This is both a lover's & NATURE LOVERS RETREAT.
Food is provided for a hearty breakfast that includes muesli cereal, our very own eggs, bacon, & a selection of fruits. This breakfast is ONLY AVAILABLE FOR THREE DAYS OR LESS STAY. An assortment of condiments is also provided. If you wish to have served lunch & dinner this can be arranged.
It has been quite an achievement to build this over the last 3 years . . now focused on the garden - still plenty to do. Come and plant some herbs if you have a green thumb!
See you at the Treehouse!. An experience you'll never forget!
First of all being totally surrounded by the Nature Reserve you will have access to walks in old growth forest, walks to the waterfall & depending on your level of fitness a cornucopia of natures gifts. You will have exclusive use of the den, however, you will generally have the run of the garden & household.
Interaction with guests
This is up to you. Most guest prefer to be left to their own devices, however if there is a dinner, or meal being prepared by one of our gourmet chefs you *may* be invited :)
Other things to note
Cooking facilities are provided by two gas stove tops, a grill, microwave & toaster. Basic condiments provided i.e. Olive oil, butter, salt pepper. Tomato sauce sometimes more. :)
Please note that you have only exclusive use of the Den. There is an entertainment facility in the room that includes TV & a wide selection of documentaries & movies.
Also be aware this is a Rainforest Jungle home built on top of a mountain in the middle of totally wild nature. Not a place to savour the cosmopolitan flavours of town & the beach. Best to stay in Byron for that. You enter this wonderful natural reality AT YOUR OWN RISK. There are not concrete pathways with railings just natural bush tracks.
Please be prepared with the appropriate attire, bring a torch, wet weather gear & make sure you are fit enough to negotiate this wild pristine natural environment.
Also please check out the Treepod; one of my other listings.
Bring a torch!! If it is wet I would ask you to remove your shoes. Bring some good walking shoes and/or some wet weather proof ones just in case it rains. I would also add that by agreeing to these terms that you are aware that this is a pristine High Conservation zone so that building styles reflects the wild natural environment. There are no concrete paths & rails etc. & certain building styles may not confirm to building codes. That you understand that you take full responsibility for your own well being & accept that to all intents & purposes this location is defined as a 'treehouse' or a primitive camp site. :)
