Coastal Maine farm and cottage very close to the ocean. Scenic views, less than 1 hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Great area for hiking, biking, boating, arts, etc.. Small kitchenette, private building, nice shower and bathroom.

The space

Beautiful coastal area - very good biking, hiking and kayaking. Sailing crusies on the bay are also available. Interesting and stimulating cultural events and some great places to eat and shop. The cottage is private and includes a sleeping loft, futon couch on the ground floor, small kitchenette, bathroom with hot shower, and a baby grand piano. This is a musician's perfect getaway to practice, compose, record, and delve into the music within.

Guest access

Guests have access to a kitchenette in the cottage and a full kitchen my nearby home. High speed internet, parking next to the cottage, cable TV, one kayak and one bike.

Interaction with guests

I really enjoy getting to know guests but I will also respect your privacy. I love the area and know it well. I would be very happy to show you around a bit if we can both find the time

Other things to note

There is a beautiful vista of approximately 20 miles out to the peaks of the mountains of Acadia National Park from the deck of the cottage.
The unique and internationally known Surry Concert barn is about a two minute walk from the cottage.
We plan to have a summer program of arts and other special topic events including concerts, films, theater, art exhibitions Etc.

Alan is a wonderful host. We are grateful for his hospitality. He is very accommodating and knowledgable about the area and its history. The cottage is very clean with working facilities. The sleeping loft is comfortable and warm in the winter. The bathroom is well lit, clean, and equipped with toiletries. The daylight in the cottage is beautiful. We had a great stay.

Alan was a great host who made sure we were checked in and knew how to operate everything in the cottage. Communication was great and the cottage was very clean and a great deal for all that we got!

We had such a great time spending a long week in Acadia in Alan's Airbnb. The lofted bed was super cozy and warm and we loved being surrounded by art, books, and music (the grand piano is beautiful). The stars are so clear here as well! We also got to spend time with Alan who took us on a nearby nature hike (right by the water) as well as a tour of the Morgan Bay Zendo, a Buddhist meditation center, right next door. Would absolutely come back here for another trip!

The view is amazing. The space is beautiful, quiet; perfect for a musicians gettaway. My boyfriend and I were able to work on our craft and be creatively inspired. Very close to the Acadia National Park; where we were able to also spend some time. We never wanted to leave. We will definitely come back and record a new album or two in the cottage. Thanks for an amazing stay Alan!

Cool spot! Alan is very nice and helpful, Surry is pretty and quiet. Great jumping off spot to visit Downeast Maine. Try PugNutz ice cream if you come, it's amazing. Thanks Alan

Location was excellent. The cabin was very rustic but lovely. However, there was no wifi (as advertised) and host was uncooperative.
