My place is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Located minutes from the heart of White Plains and within walking distance of the Metro North/Valhalla train station. Your needs will be met comfortably, safely and economically. Enjoy the quiet peaceful environment yet accessible to all major Westchester County highways, the local airport and only a 30 minute drive to NYC.

The space

The room is located in a private home and has a private bath and private entrance. It is a rustic feel with a wonderful outside view set up on the hilltop in White Plains. Guests will enjoy coming and going as their needs require. You will enjoy a queen size bed, a futon (that is truly a couch and may be pulled out flat for basic mattress) and seating for 4. Coffee and tea are provided and there is a mini refrigerator so that you may store cold items and or beverages. The bathroom includes a spacious shower stall, vanity and plenty of lighting. For your comfort, you have a 4 drawer dresser and garment hanging rack. As a guest you will have access to my WIFI network, electronic gaming system and VCR/DVD components.

Guest access

As a guest, you have private access to the room and the bathroom. No need to share.

Interaction with guests

I am available late afternoon through the evening and night time hours. There is a reference notebook with plenty of local information, recommendations for restaurants and information regarding local transportation options and things to do.

Other things to note

There is one queen sized bed and a futon. I prefer guests limited to 2 adults. But a family with children is welcome.

Kristin was absolutely great. Prompt with response and easy to talk to! The space was extremely clean and honestly the bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. I would 100% stay again and recommend anyone coming through to stay here as it is cozy and a fabulous value.

This room is a good value for the price you are paying, and works well if you are looking for someplace for a quick stay. The self check-in was very easy and private, which is what we were looking for. We did not get to see Kristin while we were there but she did reach out to communicate. Each day we left early and got back late in the evening. The only thing I would say to give future guests a heads up, is that the shower is very small. If you are over six feet tall, I’m not sure this would work. Also, as previously noted, the driveway is tricky if you have any difficulty walking, as it is a fairly steep, gravel hill. Parking at the top of the driveway by the street is definitely the best bet. If you go out with plans to come back at night, be sure to leave the back porch light on. The games were nice and the there was a good selection of tv channels. Great location and really close to the train station. We got into Manhattan in about forty minutes. There is a beautiful old cemetery around the corner (where the father-Ralph Waite- from the tv show The Walton’s is buried! Found this out by accident!) There is a Tim Hortons in one of the train stations a few miles away, which was a treat because we don’t have them in VA. Hyde Park (where FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt are buried and his childhood home is) Is only about an hour and twenty minutes away. That area was beautiful. Local Sleepy Hollow isn’t much to see except to say you have been there but the cemetery was amazing. I am sure it’s better during Halloween season. It was a good, safe home base.

I am a welcoming person who loves travel and meeting new people. It would be my pleasure to have you vacation in my home, stay a few days or longer. You will enjoy a separate entrance, private room and private bathroom. My home is minutes (walking distance) from the Metro-North Valhalla, White Plains, and North White Plains train stations and just a 30 minute ride into New York City. In addition, the public bus via Westchester Bee-Line bussing is a short 1/5 of a mile walk to the stop.
