Our newly-renovated barn and adjacent cottage are located in Ravensdale in the scenic Cooley peninsula, close to historic Carlingford village yet just an hour from Dublin & Belfast. Two great properties right beside each other - perfect for a large group, two families or an extended family gathering. Light-filled comfortable rooms contrast with cosy and traditional spaces, amazing views and all mod-cons including a wood-fired oven and a sauna/wet-room - you won't want to leave!

The space
The Barn and the Cottage is are two contrasting and unique adjacent properties, perfect for a large group, two families who would like to holiday together but still have some space or an extended family gathering.

The "barn", as the name suggests, was an original animal outhouse, but the cows have moved out to make way for an architect-designed make-over with a large open-plan living / dining area with a cathedral ceiling and feature floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the stunning views. Newly-added features including an outdoor pizza oven and a wet-room with rain-shower and sauna complete the experience.
Briefly, the barn's sleeping accommodation includes a double bedroom and a second bedroom with a single bed and bunks with a trundle. The bathroom has a large bath and toilet, wash-hand basin and shower. Downstairs is a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, a bright living/dining room with a Danish wood-burning stove, and a wet-room with a rain-shower and cedar wood sauna.

The cottage is a traditional Irish stone cottage that has been sensitively renovated to combine the best of old and new.
Briefly, the downstairs accommodation includes a hall leading to a cosy kitchen with dining area and traditional hearth, a living room complete with stove fire and a shower room and toilet. Upstairs is a good size double bedroom, and a loft with a large sofa bed and a seating area.

Outdoors, apart from the views and lots of garden space, there are two large patio areas with seating for 10, a Weber barbeque and a newly-installed pizza oven (best pizza of your life in 3 minutes flat!) We also have a charging station for electric cars.

Facilities for the children are fantastic. As well as a mountain on their doorstep to explore, an outdoor hammock and tyre swing will keep them occupied in the summer. There is also a dedicated play-room and a range of outdoor games including hoopla, boules, etc, will also keep them busy.
