This Lake Champlain Cottage is perfect for families or couples looking for some time in the lake, go fishing, enjoy the foliage...perfect country roads for biking, hiking. The deck is amazing and sits right over our sandy beach. A real family 'camp' where play is paramount and everyone can enjoy the access to the outdoors.

The space

This comfortable rustic space is cozy and is made to be lived in. It is a seasonal cottage that is open from May to October along with the rest of the Long Point community. These are real summer cottages, not year round homes. It is a place where our kids PLAY and we are happy to share it when we are not using it. While we rent it, it is first and foremost our family cottage. It is a place to enjoy the lake and everything that makes Vermont magical. It is ideal for families with school age kids, teens and young adults (not as ideal for very small kids as we are beyond that stage). While it is a pristine location, right on the lake with a gorgeous deck, we believe that the cottage is meant to be lived in. It is clean, super comfortable and crazy fun, but it is a cottage (or camp as we call it in Vermont!) it is not a resort. We love the guests that are excited to take advantage of the fun.

I have set it up so that you can sleep lots of people, cook inside and out and enjoy everything that is great about being on the lake with a fire pit, dock and hammocks. Happy to have you come up for cottage fun!

Guest access

I live 15 minutes away, I will meet you at the cottage

Interaction with guests

I am happy to help with anything while you are here. I live nearby and can provide you as much help as you need or I can leave you along. Happy to support in any way.

Other things to note

Want a super fun family excursion, a weekend away with your college buddies, a cottage to stay while you visit your kids at UVM or Middlebury...this is a perfect place for you. If you are looking luxurious, the cottage may not be right for you! After renting over the last year, we have learned that groups of middle aged women might not be our sweet spot (as a middle aged women myself, I get it, expectations are different when I am with my 4 kids than when I am with my girlfriends :-)

This place was nice and quiet with a fantastic view from the deck of Lake Champlain. Make sure to bring all your own spices, and things like paper towels. There are plenty of dishes and enough pots and pans for cooking. The grill works great too. Not recommended for a handicapped person who wants to get to the deck. It is a well loved and worn place on the lake.

If you are looking for an original Vermont family lake camp that is completely "kid friendly", this is for you. This is not a cute little painted cottage with matching wicker furniture. It is a well used family camp and it is affordably priced for that reason. Located back from roads, children can ride the bikes around the area (there are bikes), and parents who want to relax on the large new deck over the beach can easily watch the children playing. There is a firepit area for lazy nights before bed. The bathroom is newly renovated and it has a great shower. Three bedroom, two on one end, one on the other. One has two full sized beds, one has a full sized bed and two twin, and a smaller one facing the lake has a futon and a floor mattress, so there is a lot of sleeping space! I shared this camp for the weekend with three other women, and we used that last room as a sunrise-watching coffee and breakfast spot to wake up and hang out before drifting out onto the deck. Because it is an older camp and has been well loved and used , it has its quirks, but if an issue arises, Juliana is 10 minutes away and immediately available and accommodating. I felt she was most concerned that we enjoyed our stay, and wanted to do whatever she could to make that happen. All in all, I was very happy with our stay and would go back again!

Juliana was very inviting, house was spotless and even offered toys for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. The location is perfect. Nice calm bay on lake Champlain and close enough to Burlington or vergennes for groceries or shopping and whatever you need, I would definitely plan staying again.. The Clement's. Lenox dale ma

I stayed here recently with my husband, 3 year old son, and infant twins. When we arrived we were surprised that the cottage was not very clean or well kept as if had appeared in the photos. There was old food in the refrigerator and hair in the shower drain. The house overall needed a deep cleaning from top to bottom. The living room furniture was heavily stained. The bedding smelled musty (probably due to wet lake air) and we noticed that the white bed bowed in the middle due to broken supports. Outside the house there were dirty shoes by the front door, trash in the bushes, not to mention the old refrigerator propped up out front. In the basement we discovered dirty laundry piled on the washing machine. I had the feeling the entire time that we were staying in someone else's very well used cottage and it just wasn't up to airbnb standards in my opinion. The final straw for us was seeing mice crawl out of the cabinets and run around the kitchen at night (and into the room where our children slept!) I was horrified that my babies had been crawling around on those floors. We promptly left the following morning. I will say Juliana was quick to call back, was apologetic, and offered us a full refund. All in all the view is nice but this property needs a lot of work to be in a condition that reflects the nightly rate. There are much better options locally.

I thought that the place should be a bit cleaner and more tidy for what was charged. Otherwise no real complaints. The view of the lake is great. Nice, simple cottage.

Right from the beginning the communication was fabulous. The location was just as pictured, right on the water, with respectful neighbors on either side. Access to the paddleboat, kayaks and life jackets was a plus, as well as having the gas grill ready to go. The location was private but also had easy access to local towns for grocery stores, etc. The house was comfortable and you could tell was well used throughout the summer.

We spent a 3-day weekend at Julianna's. The chalet is literally on the lake ... the place is really quiet and a perfect spot to chill out for the weekend. Our 2 children (1 and 4) enjoyed the stay ... the house is fully equipped, there are boxes with toys ... and lots of things for outdoors (bikes, basketballs, ...). Less than 30 minutes from Shelburne (Teddy Bear Factory, farms) and Burlington. Julianna is a great host ... quick to answer our questions (where to find a grocery store for instance). It was our first time in Vermont and we found the perfect spot :).

I am a mother of 4 amazing kids. We lived in Sao Paulo, Brasil for 5 years and had 2 of our kids there. We are travelers and our kids are amazingly respectful travelers. We now live in Vermont. I run two food businesses and volunteer at my kids schools. I speak portuguese and my kids are all avid athletes.
