Situated directly on the North Coast 500 route with uninterupted sea views to Stroma and Orkney. We are a few minutes from the Pentland ferry terminal over to Orkney at Gills Bay and 5 minute drive to John O Groats. Continental breakfast is served between 07.00-09.00am and there are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Bathroom is next to rooms and guests have sole use. We are in a quiet rural location.Own transport essential

The space
We only let 2 guest rooms in our home with a maximum of 4 adults staying. We do not accept children as we have an elderly dog who gets distressed around kids.
All areas are on ground level with a wheelchair ramp at back of property, wide doorways for accessibility and all flooring is hard wood. This is a modern new built property.

Guest access
We don't allow guests access to the kitchen to cook. If you want to eat a take-away we would ask that you eat at our dining table rather than in your room. We will give you plates and cutlery. Guests are given a front door key if we are going to be out so they can come and go as they please, the guest bedrooms have locks on them also. No-one but you will enter your bedroom during your stay without you being asked if it is ok - to go in and refresh tea & coffee cups for example. We have a large sitting room with a log fire that you can light on chilly nights where you can sit and read some of the local history of the area alongside tourist information if you wish. We have a patio area at the back of the house that you can use to sit outside.

During your stay
We are a friendly house so please do get in touch with any questions. As we live in the same house that you will be staying in, one of us is usually around and we are helpful to our guests but not intrusive. We are knowledgeable about the local area and beyond. We are also happy to share with you some tips on things to see and do that you might otherwise miss, especially if you are travelling on to explore the Orkney Islands, East or West coast.
We will be in contact prior to arrival to ensure you have detailed directions to our home.

Other things to note
This is a rural location with no restaurants or shops within walking distance, so having your own transport is essential .There is no ensuite to our rooms, the toilet and shower are directly next to the rooms and your party has sole use.

I’m happy to spend time with my guests or give them space
My husband and I are semi-retired and love travelling and discovering new places. My husband Barry is a keen fisherman while I love watching wildlife, in particular whales, dolphins and sharks, which are found all around the coast here. Saw a quote somewhere that said " there are no strangers in this world, only friends you have not met yet" which pretty much sums up how we think. We look forward to meeting everyone who comes to stay with us.
