Located in quaint Chippawa at the top of Niagara Falls just 3.5 KM in cottage country of the South. The river is a great holiday location with boating, kayaking, stand up paddle board, swimming or simply float directly off the dock in front of your home away from home.

The space

This was once the home of Canadian Heroin Laura Secord, where she once taught school and lived in for 27 years after the war of 1812. She later died here at the age of 93 on Oct. 17, 1868. The now modernized home has a private quaint loft with its own entrance and bathroom off the courtyard.
The room is fitted with a queen size bed and a pullout, double bed sofa for extra guests...but best suited for couples with younger or teen children. It's to say that this space would be acceptable for three adults or two adults and two or three children.
We have also supplied the room with everything needed for your stay, glasses, dishes, utensils, pots and pans extra bedding and towels.
The BBQ in court yard also at your disposal and a fire table for quiet small fires to enjoy. Ask me about kayak and bike rentals or I can also help you charter a private boat ride on the upper Niagara River to make your stay the best experience ever. If it happens to be a special occasion I can help you with some special need plans as well, you only need to ask!!!

Guest access

Guest have access to the quaint courtyard with BBQ and plenty of space to enjoy meals, a great place to unwind and the river front dock where you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding , sea-doo and boating or a simple quiet glass of wine, also four hammocks from a tree right on river bank to enjoy and relax.

We are around for directions and help to plan your day with the many attractions and activities available in the Niagara Region or to discuss local history.

Nathalie's loft at Laura Secord's Cottage will more than meet your expectations. The loft itself is small but very charming, with an excellent use of space. It was spotless and homey with access to equipment to BBQ on the outside patio, or bring a glass of wine down to the private dock across the road. Nathalie and her family made us feel very welcomed and were there to help with questions and suggestions. Chippewa was only a few minutes drive from the falls or the WeGo bus (which we would recommend, as parking is at a premium in downtown Niagara). Nathalie also has an array of water toys and bicycles that were readily available for those who might be interested.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Nathalie's place when we visited the falls for a few days! The room was cozy, quiet, and in perfect shape. The mini fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc were a nice surprise, neatly hidden behind sliding doors. We couldn't have asked for a better location- having a quiet spot to relax on the patio or dock was just what we needed to get away from the busyness of the city. Nathalie was a great hostess and had robes, chocolate, and cookies awaiting when we arrived- and also left a treat at the door for us the morning we left! Overall the perfect getaway. We hope to be back!

This was our first air bnb experience and Nathelie made it very easy for us. she gave us the information codes.... as to keep the process of check in simple. upon arrival we had a well lit area, a very cute and comfortable loft room and a nice courtyard and dock area on the river to sit and relax, coffee and cookies as a finishing touch. The location was just a short drive from the Niagra attractions so we could go back and forth conveniently. We would definitely stay there again.

The apartment was wonderful and quiet with a comfortable bed and pull-out couch. It is perfectly located across from the river and it was wonderful to start the day sitting on the dock. Nathalie is a wonderful host and this is exactly the sort of place that makes airbnb so much fun. There are kitchen supplies, microwave, hotplate and fridge but there isn't a full-fledged kitchen sink so not ideal for more involved meal prep. It worked out perfectly for us.

As a host Natalie is the definition of perfection. Everything was wonderful and the room was wonderful. Natalie has great communication and even went the extra mile and left bedtime treats on our door. She was so helpful with giving directions and helping us get around the area and seeing all the attractions. We took our dinner down on the dock one evening and watched the sunset on the river. You will be thrilled when you stay with Natalie.

I was attending a conference in Niagara Falls and my partner wanted a comfortable place to work. Nathalie's place was perfect for both purposes. It is a short drive or cab downtown; and the apartment is great for a couple needing a bit of space to spread out. We loved the little town of Chippewa with really good places to eat a short walk away; and if you are a runner the path from Chippewa to the falls is gorgeous. Nathalie is a gracious, responsive and very thoughtful host and the house, along with its history, is wonderful. Bonus if you are there during good weather and can sit in hammocks or cushy chairs by the creek and enjoy the serenity of the water. Run don't walk, this is a gem.
