Marie Louise's modern family home is welcoming, homely and decorated with colours and fabrics that please the eye. Some memorable touches: a lovely, log-burning stove; towels and special toiletries; all kinds of infusion and walnut wheaten bread on arrival. The development seems a friendly, family-oriented place yet is quiet and very convenient. My room was spacious and comfortable - I had the best ever night's sleep! There's parking space close to the house.

Marie Louise's place is an excellent base for checking out Sligo and the surrounding Wild Atlantic Way. Carney is very peaceful, with one fantastic restaurant (Laura's), a shop, a chinese takeaway and a lively pub. These are immediate walking distance from the house. The house is modern and Marie Louise was extremely accommodating in allowing me to have full use of the amenities. The room I stayed in was large, bright, clean and with an extremely comfy bed, but the best bit was the view from the window. The whole of Benbulben mountain could be seen from the window- I slept with the curtains open to see this stunning view morning and night! There is free parking at the property and plenty of space in the room for all your shopping and belongings. I felt very at home here and I would visit again- highly recommended. Very peaceful spot, and only 10 minutes drive to Rosses Point, Streedagh Beach, and Glencar Waterfalls walks. Yeats' Grave at Drumcliff is less than 5 minutes drive down the road, which has a nice tea room/shop and gallery and there is also a large pub/ restaurant here. Further afield, Sligo town is approx 20 mins drive, with the seaside surf resorts of Strandhill, Bundoran and Rossknowlagh all around 40mins away. A great base for exploring!
