Ideal if traveling by car and with previous knowledge of the area. We were received by the host (not Pauline) but she left and we did not get to see her again. A couple of girls left as there was no one in there to show them around and decided to stay at a hotel in Flores. Most c…

Response from Pauline:
This is too funny... The map of the listing on Airbnb is accurate to 100 yards... so if you can't read a map, the place is 20 miles from Flores and 30 miles from Tikal, which is also mentionned in the listing, so not sure what you expect... There is staff on site 7 hours a day, remember this is Airbnb you're renting a home not a hotel. If you want 24/7 staff this place is NOT for you. I'd be so happy to have a place to myself and not staff in my face the whole time, but to each his own. This guy was offered the name of a driver who would take him there any time day or night, but didn't reply to the email. Most taxis will take you there and there are six buses a day as well. You get driving directions and all the info you need + (Hidden by Airbnb) to my staff and myself in case you can't figure out a GPS exact point or copy paste a direction in (Hidden by Airbnb) Map. There was power the whole time, makes no sense that if there is no power "you have to turn off the lights at night". LOL. Staff comes every morning to make sure everything is ok, and unless there is a tropical storm and no one has power in a 20 mile radius, everything works fine. "You are by yourself"... Again, this is an Airbnb. You are renting a room, you are not renting a full time baby-sitter to make sure you are ok at all times. Once you are showed around you should be able to figure out life on your own. Or get a hotel. And "the doors are open, so it's flawed", well we leave the doors open because the area is SUPER SAFE. Nothing has disappeared in five years, and it's easier for guests to check in 24/7. Keys are on the door and you are free to lock your room once you're in. So one more thing that makes no sense. If you are too lazy to read the listing check out at least the first paragraph: it's away from the beaten paths. For travelers who want to relax in nature, by the lake, not tourists who need their hands held 24/7.

This place was amazing. The lake was beautiful and clear and swell for a morning skinny dip. Added bonus: there was nobody in site the whole time we were there, so I didn't even feel bad about it! Very romantic setting, if you're into that. The room was clean and comfortable. It'…

The place was in an ideal location and we were able to find it easily. However, there were some insects on the beds and the overall cleanliness was not ideal. This being said, the place is in the middle of the jungle so relatively expected.

This is a very interesting stay - off the tourist grid but with great access to Tikal and plenty of touring infrastructure. The house itself is 'different' but not ina bad way. The kitchen above the room is where you will spend the most time - and it's excellent. The location i…
