cozy glamping (in doors) in hip Silver Lake, bars, restaurants, grocery, hiking, tourist attractions, bus stop, yoga, and the lake are walking distance. Views of : Hollywood sign, Silver Lake and observatory. 1927, its old, rustic, cleaned every stay professionally but with spiders/webs and other animals occasionally in. Think camping with walls. Read the full description :) thanks

The space
Something new and fun..

We're thinking peoples need to fill out some kind of survey... like: what was the first record you ever bought? do you know how to change a tire? How many times a week do you lock yourself out? Have you ever used a clothespin before? This is not a hotel... please identify 3 differences between a Hotel and a Home. Are you a nice person? Where does electricity come from? Did you read the description? What kind of treats are you bringing us? Do you have plumbing or electric skills? This is still NOT a Hotel. 🥴

We state the treehouse as rustic. From the reviews most people get this and love the place. We have been told at times it is not just "rustic" but needs updating. Well, it's hard to please all but to reiterate before I reiterate 6 more times in the body of this description, this place is cleaned by a maid, it is not dirty at all, however a few of you very cleanly people see otherwise due to its cabin-esque nature. Think cabin in the woods and forget the Los Angeles part.

A few starting points;

-This is an artsy home, it is not modern. We purposefully left the floors and wood doors old. We like the artistry of it. For example, the wood floors are raw with paint splatters because it was an artist loft in 1927 and we love the style and nostalgia.
-This house was built in 1927 and holds the charm of a french chateau meets tree house.
-Being a tree house, all areas may not be level, doors creak, deck is actually built into a tree and it is all wood!!!
-It has a refurbished antique stove.
-There are 31 stairs from street to pathway to house, please note...there are stairs! (Some people tend to ignore that warning)
This house is hidden from view , safe and secluded, tucked behind another house.
-The house is on a hill, you park on the street, there are no parking restrictions.
-The bath is raised and it has been difficult for some elderly to maneuver and would be dangerous for children.
-The deck has been restored and is safe but it is also not even or perfect as it is built into a tree

Ask about shorter stays, I prefer monthly but if it's sitting there empty, that's no fun! :)
You’ll love my place because of I'm in the great, super hip, neighborhood of Silver Lake (east side of Hollywood) ...this house was built in 1927, it's a California bungalow. The views are spectacular of the Hollywood sign, Observatory and Griffith Park. The entire front of the house is windows and all have a view of the lake as well as attractions.

The bus is just at bottom of hill, connecting you to the redline, which is our subway that goes to hollywood and beyond.

I'm walking distance (2 blocks) to shopping, coffee, restaurants, bars (red lion is my favorite) yoga, the lake, hiking, the hollywood sign can be seen from the house.
Located up on a hill in wildlife as if you aren't in a city at all. You'll see raccoons, possums, coyote, skunks and my cat, Tiny.

This is a long term rental... Feel free to ask if you have questions regarding this!

They all live in and around the property.
We have a monthly service to control pests but truth is, them there are the hills! You’re gonna have a visitor from time to time.

You’re gonna have spiders even after a deep clean and ants if it’s too hot or too wet. LA is the desert but this area has many parks and hills surrounding various small bodies of water so you actually get this camping element mid-city.

I love that, it’s why I chose the home. If that’s not your jam, don’t take it. There are plenty of sexy lofts etc to be chosen from. The house comes as is because it is my home and to MY standards. They could be below yours but this isn’t a hotel, it’s “home sharing” (which means off of all the information provided, you are signing up and agreeing to an experience, mine)
Please know that I’m super transparent with my description so if you don’t read it or complain about things that are clearly in it... I may have less sympathy.

So again, outdoors in occasionally, rustic, comfy, great views.

31 stairs to the house
Outdoor sitting area
Panoramic views of lake and Hollywood sign/observatory.
Uneven path
Old fixtures
Mid century/funky vibe
Tv/VCR/record player

You have coffee and tea in the cupboards, a well stocked kitchen with pots and pans and plenty of spaces to sit an relax. There are 3 front rooms besides the kitchen, a separate laundry room (shared with the back house and maids) and the 2 bedrooms. You have a full bath and toiletries.

Please keep ALL FOOD in the fridge.
Think of this as a cabin in the woods. Food left out that’s been opened WILL draw pests.
