The Polar Cabin is a traditional Norwegian cottage situated in birch forest approx.20km from Tromsø. To reach the cabin you have to walk from parking place 1.3 km up hill.(20min). This is a perfect place for outdoor activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, observing Northern Lights or just relaxing and reading books.

The space
Kitchen - refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffee machine filters, toaster, kettle, detergents, toilet with toilet paper, shower, barbeque facility outside cabin, slippers.

You must organise your own transport and food. You also need to be able to take your luggage up the hill to the cabin. And thats why we dont recomend suitcase luggage, better are bags that you can take on your back.

We will provide you with snowshoes during your stay.

You will have your own bedroom with wood stove, kitchen, bathroom with a shower, and toilet available.

Other things to note
The transport: when you arrive to Tromsø, you can rent car, take bus or taxi. You will also need to stop in shop to buy food which you will need in cabin. If you want to get there by yourself, from the airport you have to get to the city by Flybuss or bus number 42 to Tromsø Havn Prostneset. From Tromsø Havn Prostneset you have to take a district bus number 450 to Sør-Vågnes snuplass (name of the bus stop). There you walk 1,3 km to the forest cabin. You need to be able to take your food and luggage up the hill to the cabin by yourself. And thats why we dont recomend suitcase luggage. Better is a bag that you can take on your back for 20-30 minutes up the hill in the forest.

Polar Cabin is located at Vågnes, on the mainland, 3 miles north of Tromsø. The cottage is located in a birch forest along the forest road to Bakvatnet. From Åsfjellet above the cottage there are great views of Grøtsundet, Kvaløya and Ringvassøya. The terrain around the cabin is hiking-friendly.

Hi. Me and my husband Michal, are owners of this beautiful cabin where is the best spot to observe the Northern Lights- Aurora and its in close distance to the city and at the same time in beautiful norwegian nature where you can do fishing, hiking, bicycling and its soo cozy! We love our cabin.
