This is a very private bedroom with en-suite shower room. You could almost say you had your own wing of the house, but we won't, as that sounds far too grandiose and pretentious! There's no one above or below you, and the room is accessed from a private staircase. Continental breakfast is provided for you to dine at your convenience in your room. We are located within easy walking distance of everything Frome has to offer, so simply park your car in our off street parking and explore!
You've basically got your own place. Enter through the front door, unburden your coats in the spacious hallway, then hang a right up the private staircase and after that, it's all yours! The very spacious room was built as an extension whilst we were renovating and restoring the rest of our 1930s home. It was designed specifically with guests in mind, as you are essentially split off from the rest of the house, with your own en-suite shower room, WIFI, Smart TV, digital Roberts radio, fridge, kettle, toaster and mini breakfast bar.
Music is a big part of our lives, and we have curated a selection of vinyl for you to enjoy in your room on the sleek record player.
No need to worry about missing breakfast here.....simply wake up and dine in your room whenever it suits you, in your PJs if you wish! Breakfast consists of fresh bread, crumpets, yogurts, muesli, granola, tea, coffee (filter and instant) and orange juice to set you up for the day.
Our guests tell us that the bed is very comfy and the room is peaceful, with views over the rooftops of the many historic houses in this part of Frome, as well as a grandstand view of the bucolic Frome & Selwood Bowls Club right next door.
As above, this part of the house is all yours. There's no access to the rest of the house.
Interaction with guests
We spent many years working ridiculous hours in London, with the end game in mind of returning home to the westcountry to a slower pace of life. We work very locally, just round the corner in fact at Frome's world-class co-working space, The Old Church School, which has an ace cafe, free WIFI and is a great spot to base yourself if you need to catch up on a few work things during your stay. If you need us, we're never usually far away - but come and go as you please, you won't disturb us and we won't you, unless you're up for a chat, in which case we can hold our own on that front! Our two young sons are likely to come and say hi when you arrive, but they will quickly wonder off to play and leave you to it!
Other things to note
Our house can be a little hard to find as it is set back from the road. I will send you a PDF with directions and pictures of our driveway, so you know what to look out for!
Please avoid any spillages on our lovely, brand new, wool carpet.
In a nutshell....I'm an awesome lego builder (well, I do have two sons); I love breathing new life into old properties; I can multi-task with aplomb (see reference to sons); I have the ability to smell a glass of wine at 20 paces; and I smile, a lot.
I'm a westcountry girl, born in Cornwall and raised in Somerset. The bright lights of London beckoned me for most of my 20s and 30s, but I returned home to Somerset in 2012 when our first son was born. I live in the resplendent market town of Frome. I love the town dearly and delight in giving guests the little insider tips only a local would know.
My Dad was a builder and I have inherited his interest in houses. I dream of floorplans! I now have the pleasure of looking after other people's homes and making them available on Airbnb for guests to enjoy.
