Under the supervision of a traditional knanaya catholic Mr.Uthup Ittiyavirah, a magnificent house was built which was to become the Tharavadu -- or ancestral home -- for later generations of the Kodianthara family. Since then, this property, which is more than 165 years old now, has been passed down over five generations to the present occupant --Crispin Kodianthara and his family. And now he brings his immense experience in the hospitality industry and environmental protection to promote tourism in Kerala.

For the elaborate lunches and dinners there are an array of fish and meat preparations -- fish moily, meen pattichathu, meen vaivichathu, duck roast, erachi ulathiyathu, to name but a few. Study of Kerala Architecture & Culture
I am Crispin, fifth generation of Kodianthara family, was working in Merchant Navy as Catering officer for 25 Years. To settle with my family I renovated my ancestors farm house, which is 167 years old and spread over 3-acres of rubber, vegetables, fruits, & farm, to do the hospitality services in a well-known Backwater tourist destination 'Kumarakom'. Kerala Govt. given the family house a title of an 'Approved Heritage Building' in 2005. From then on the tourist from all over the world started coming over here. In 2008 we built a 02-bedroom Upper deck houseboat and named after my saint 'St.Crispin'.
My wife Soni, who is teaching in 12th Grade & me staying @ Kodianthara to make the guests to feel at home. Our daughter Midhila and son-in-law Riju are working in Bangalore.
