Located on the waterfront overlooking Moreton Bay. Opposite is a clean, sandy beach for leisurely strolls or swimming all year round as the weather is fantastic in this region. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and many local attractions. A home away from home while visiting family, Brisbane, surf beaches, hinterland or just to relax. Perfect for couples, seniors, small families, single and business travellers. We live nearby so can assist you with local information and travel tips.
When you walk through the front door it feels like a home rather than a hotel. No lifts, stairs or long corridors to drag your luggage through and find when you finally get to the door the key card doesn't work and back to reception you go (this has happened to me several times). You will either be greeted by me on arrival or the key will be in the key safe at the front door if I am working when you check in (we aim to be flexible with times depending on other bookings).
I will be available throughout your stay if you need assistance as I live nearby. I have furnished the unit with many home comforts for you to enjoy during your stay so all you need to pack is clothes. All linen is provided and extras include books, magazines, dvds, games, children's toys, picnic basket and beach towels.
On arrival there is a starter pack of cereal, tea, coffee, toiletries, fresh fruit and milk. I also have a share self of pantry staples that you are welcome to use and add to when you leave. Margate Village is a couple of blocks from the unit with a butcher, bakery, news agency, bottle shop, chemist, supermarket and other specialty shops.
It would be appreciated if you would treat the unit as if it were your own. Please don't smoke inside and leave unit in the condition you enjoyed finding it when you arrived. This enables me to minimise ongoing costs and keep my rates reasonable for other visitors.
You have sole use of our two bedroom, fully furnished unit. There is a covered front patio with table and chairs so you can enjoy the waterfront view. At the rear of the unit is a very large paved and covered area with a beautiful private garden for your sole use as well. This area also has tables and chairs so you can relax, dine al fresco and enjoy the beautiful Queensland climate.
We have limited parking onsite so ask that you respect our permanent residents needs and park any vehicles you have on the roadside at front of the units once you have unpacked. Street parking is safe, free and unlimited.
Interaction with guests
I live in the adjacent unit so if you need anything you are welcome to knock on my door or if I am away I will leave contact details for you to reach me in case of emergency. Should you want some advice on the local area there are folders of information in the unit or I am happy to join you for a coffee if I am around. The unit is located in a small community of friendly and quiet neighbours so there is usually someone nearby if you have a question or you can enjoy the privacy of your own space if you prefer.
Other things to note
There is a strict no pet policy at San Raphael units. As it is a very quiet community you are also asked to show respect to our neighbours by keeping noise and visitors to a minimum. If you would like to have others join you while you are staying please take advantage of the beautiful outdoors and fantastic public facilities on offer just across the road. There is a picnic basket and esky available for you to borrow.
As I frequently travelled when my son was young I am aware of the extras that are needed so you are welcome to use the portacot, stroller, car seats, high chair, books, toys and games etc and all I ask is you please leave them in the clean condition you find them for other guests to use.
When you leave please place your rubbish and recycling in the large bins that are located in the waste bay area at the front of the building on right side nearest the fence. Red/green lids for general waste and yellow lids for recycling.
This is a very quiet community of residents so noise is to be minimal at all times and please only booked guests may stay (no parties). There is strictly no pets or smoking in or near the unit.
Finally I have found my place in paradise to settle after travelling around the globe for many years. One of the greatest things about travelling is that no two days are the same and the friendships you make each day can last a lifetime. So many of the fond memories I cherish are from times I have stayed in the homes of friends. Now I am in a position to provide a home environment for those travelling in my area. If you are visiting family and friends or exploring this region for the first time I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and the invitation for you to share my piece of paradise on the shores of Moreton Bay.
When I have visited other holiday homes I have appreciated having all the little extras that made my stay that little bit more comfortable so in turn I have furnished my apartment so that all you need to do is bring your clothes as a starter pack of tea, coffee, breakfast, toiletries is provided along with many other extras you may need on holiday. Take a picnic or cook a bbq across the road at the beach, enjoy home cooked meals on the patio, order in a meal or visit the many restaurants we have nearby.
As I am nearby most of the time I am happy to join you for a coffee and provide some local information and assist you to plan an itinerary for the time you have in the area. Since I have also travelled extensively in Australia and abroad I can give you many tips for your onward journey too.
Look forward to meeting you soon :-)
