Our place is located on the West Side of Cleveland just minutes from the airport and downtown. (10 Minutes to Airport & 12 Minutes to Downtown.)

The space

1000sq/ft - Location is clean, quiet, and friendly. Historical features, with modern upgrades. Sleeps 2 comfortable, but can sleep 4 with an air matress, or up to 5 if needed.

Guest will be truly happy they picked our place to stay because of the wonderful job at hosting we set out to do.

Stayed at Mike & Amanda's place while visiting friends in Cleveland. The apartment was spacious, clean and overall a great value for how much it was. I had a car and was fine, however you are in more of a residential part of the city vs downtown by all the attractions. This was perfect for me, however it should be considered for your stay. Overall communication was prompt, I did not need too much but I am sure they are helpful if you do. I would stay again.

Although we had booked two nights, we knew within 10 minutes of being there that we wouldn't be able to stay. At the price we paid we weren't expecting anything fancy, but this place fell below our worst expectations. We arrived around 9pm, and were surprised to find the place completely dark - the porch, the inner stairwell, and all apartment lights were out. Once inside, turning on the lights didn't help. The bed was barely made with two mismatched, stained pillows. It also smelled less than fresh. I figured I'd stay on the couch, but the leather(?) was so cracked that it felt rough to the touch. The shower and refrigerator needed a good scrub down as well. The whole unit seemed to be furnished with items that even thrift shops would turn away. I messaged Mike and Amanda about the bed not matching the photo they shared, and Mike said they rotate different linens so the bed won't always match the photo. I get that, but a restaurant can't show a photo of a filet mignon on the menu only to serve you a hamburger patty. I let them know we wouldn't be staying due to overall uncleanliness, and we left right away. I kind of expected they'd offer back the money for the next night, but no such luck. We've used Airbnb several times, and this is the first time we've felt burned. As far as a review on Mike and Amanda's place, Pro: Quick to respond to messages Con: Everthing else

My fiancé and I were excited to be in Cleveland for a long wedding weekend. We arrived at the house and found that the lock box that holds the keys was unlocked, which did not give us a great first impression. I know, mistakes happen, but it only got worse. We first found a trail of ants in the bathroom. We realized that they were attracted to a red sticky substance on the floor. I sprayed them with some cleaner that was underneath the counter and that took care of those. Meanwhile, we just felt the place was filthy. It seemed that everywhere we turned, there was another “mess.” The refrigerator was disgusting. There was an old open glass of wine or juice in the back of the fridge along with crumbs and dried liquid lining the surfaces. All the mirrors in the house were so dusty that when I was doing my make up, I literally had to move side to side to avoid “gunk” on the long body mirror in the dining room. There was toothpaste crusted to the marble slate on the bathroom sink. The shower was dirty as well, with little mold spots on the walls. There were spider webs (along with spiders) in a lot of the corners of the room, including beside the bed along with what appeared to be a dried contact stuck to the bedroom rug. We looked under the bed, unfortunately, and there was a dip can along with an old receipt dated February 2017. Also, the rug in the bedroom had obviously not been vacuumed. Clearly, this place had not been thoroughly cleaned in a LONG time. My fiancé and I started wondering why all of the other reviews were so great about this place. It just made us feel incredibly dirty and was barely livable for the weekend. We contacted the hosts and sent photos to show of all of the cleanliness issues. They responded letting us know that the cleaners had been there earlier that day, which we didn’t believe at all. They apologized for the uncleanliness and offered for us to either leave by 10am the next morning with the remainder of the trip refunded or to stay the rest of the weekend and take a partial refund. We opted for the partial refund as we could not find another place to stay with such short notice. We also asked them to come clean the house the next day while we were out. They said that they would, but when we returned, it smelled like cleaner but the only visible clean thing was the toothpaste that was on the sink in the bathroom. The refrigerator was still disgusting, the dip can along with the receipt dated February 2017 was STILL under the bed, the mirrors were still dusty, spider webs were scattered about, and the shower was not clean either. We gave the host a chance to fix this but feel as if they didn’t really care...

Andrew & Amber For our listing we hire a cleaning company which cleans the unit after each guest. The company keeps records of when they clean the unit and they were indeed at the house prior to your check in. The company vacuums, changes sheets, pillow cases, comforters, cleans the bathroom, kitchen & living room. The company also keeps pictures after every time in which they clean the unit. We have had over 60 fantastic reviews when they have cleaned as they have done an incredible job. If the cleaning company didn't do a 100% job before your stay we apologize. The information in which they provided us shows they were at the house and cleaned. By the time you contacted us with issues on your stay it was close to 11 PM on the first night of your stay being that late at night there is little that we can do at that time of night. I personally rushed over the next day to see issues and address your issues/complaints in person. The issues in which you addressed to us were about toothpaste that hadn't been fully removed on the sink as well as light bulbs in the vanity being burned out along with a partial glass of wine that was left by a previous guest. All of these issues were addressed as well as providing extra towels, pillow cases. This comment you left we forwarded to our attorney for review as libel and I have reached out to our attorney to consider the next course of action to address these false claims and misrepresentation you have left in your review.

Mike and Amanda were great hosts! They communicated promptly and clearly and were responsive when I messaged them. The place was very nice and in a good neighborhood. If you're staying in the summer, note that it has a window unit for air and gets pretty hot.

Mike and Amanda's home is conveniently located on the westside of Cleveland. It is on a pleasant street of classic "doubledeckers". Their directions to the home and the check in proceedure was clear and precise. We found their home to be a clean and cozy place to recharge after our busy days in Cleveland. Thanks again for all your hospitality, Mike and Amanda, we will look forward to a return visit!
