My cozy cottage sits on a bluff on the peninsula of Great Neck providing breathtaking views of the sea. Swim or walk along our private beach. Take a whale watch, kayak, fish, feast on lobster or shop for antiques. A 50 minute drive or train ride from Boston, my home is centrally located for exploring historical sites, art museums, or nature preserves as well as attending a ball game or concert. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and small families.

The space
My home looks small from the outside but the combination living room-dining room is a spacious gathering place filled with light from windows on three sides and tastefully decorated. The narrow bath includes a tub and shower that is beautifully appointed with aqua marble tiles. An outside shower extends bathing options during the warmer months of the year. My kitchen is small but fully equipped for gourmet cooking. The bedroom is fitted with a comfortable queen sized bed with a brand new mattress. The sun porch, located in the back of the house, provides extended living space as well as an additional bedroom. The futon sofa opens into a double bed and the futon chair could provide sleeping space for a child. The sun porch is my favorite space in the house because of the bank of windows on three sides which provide breathtaking views of the ocean and Plum Island. This space also serves as my office where my desk is positioned to take advantage of the inspiring view of the sea.

Despite being a beach community, my neighborhood is quiet with little traffic as most inhabitants are year long residents. Many of the neighbors are middle aged or retired. It is not a party place but one where the citizens love the sea, the great outdoors, walking, biking and boating. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful.
The area includes many lovely homes with spacious yards interspersed with a great deal of conservation land and green space. My area doesn't feel overcrowded with one home on top of another as in many coastal areas.

Hi, I am Catherine. I am an avid traveler, a lover of literature, art, history, music, and nature, especially the ocean. I feel so blessed to live near the sea where I can start the day with a walk along the beach, gaze at its splendor throughout the day, swim, kayak and bask in the sun with a good novel. I work from home and find this setting the ideal environment for creativity. I also thoroughly enjoy being close to Boston in order to attend concerts, the theater, and spend hours at the art museums. I am the proud mother of three grown children and a new grandma. Since my kids and extended family are scattered throughout the country, I do a fair amount of traveling in the US each year. In addition, I consider Italy my second home and try to go there every two or three years for an extended length of time. My home and its setting feels like a corner of Paradise. Since sharing what I love doubles the pleasure for me, I'd love to invite you to come to my home during one of my frequent absences. Come and spend a relaxing few days or longer to enjoy leisurely walks to our private beach or the nature look-out. Sit on the deck and breath in the sea air while gazing at the sparkling sea. Grab a boogie board, sun umbrella , and beach chair for a beach excursion. Autumn guests will enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding hills arrayed in their fall splendor, apple picking nearby, and local harvest festivals. Winter temperatures are milder here at the sea's edge and perfect weather to enjoy local clam chowder and a walk along Crane's Beach in search of the snowy owls that winter here. I invite you to come enjoy the beauty, peace and quiet, and be refreshed. Buon Viaggio! Catherine
