My place is close to the little city of Vergennes, Basin Harbor, Lake Champlain.
You’ll love the location for opportunities to kayak, fish, ride a bike, golf, and go to a museum. The space is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets).

The space

We are located directly on Otter Creek 1.5 miles from Lake Champlain adjacent to the Lower Otter Creek Wildlife Management Area. The finished apartment above our garage has been recently renovated. Formerly it was the overflow space when family and friends visited. It's still a work in progress with the garage slated to be painted in the summer of 2017. There is a parking spot for guests and private entry.

Guest access

The entire apartment is yours. The kitchen has a double sink, gas stovetop, oven & broiler, refrigerator, and silverware, plates, utensils, pots & pans, everything you might need to prepare a meal. For your basic culinary needs there is oil, vinegar, soy, sugar, salt&pepper stocked. There's a coffee-maker and complimentary coffee and tea.

Interaction with guests

We live here and there is usually someone around most of the time if you need anything.

Other things to note

Your well-mannered dog is welcome as long as the squirrels and chipmunks won't drive him/her crazy. We have 8 chickens - well fenced in but sometimes out foraging. There may be some eggs in the refrigerator for you!

This was my 2nd time staying at this wonderful place and I couldn't wait to be back there! Deb has created such a lovely, welcoming space with everything you could possibly need. I loved being surrounded by all the sights and sounds of nature. The dark night skies and minimal lights are excellent for star gazing right from her yard. Communication was great, we texted and stayed in touch, the wifi worked great for me too. I really appreciated the fresh eggs and veggies she left for me. I loved watching the chickens every morning before heading out on my adventures. Hope to be back again.

Deb was a wonderful host who greeted us warmly at her home in a bucolic setting. The fresh eggs from her chickens and Artisan coffee was an added treat, not to mention the use of her iron to spiff up my dress for a nearby wedding event. We'd love to return for anther visit that would a trip down Otter Creek which flows behind Deb' home.

Staying with Deb was such a pleasure! The unit is charming, comfortable, and clean, and has great access to towns and outdoor activities. Deb is an incredibly gracious host, and made us feel right at home. One of our best experiences with air bnb yet!

Wouldn't have changed a thing. Deb's home is so perfect to get closer to nature while still having all your creature comforts! Deb is an amazing host, was flexible with our arrival time and additional puppy guest. Left us eggs, local ideas for activities, and beer. It is such a great deal. Deb is environmentally conscious which makes it easy to feel like you're having a low impact getaway. The location is great for hikers, bikers and paddlers. We mostly hiked but there are so many fantastic parks, mountains, and trails- you're sure to walk away with some fantastic pictures no matter what you do. Also the locale allows for a wide array of fresh farm foods.

We stayed here to attend a family wedding at the Basin Harbor Club. The location couldn't have been more convenient. We found the place was just as described in a quiet rural setting. Deb greeted us upon arrival and provided great tips and "back road" directions to our destination. We loved the flexibility of check-in/check-out. The unit was spotless, comfortable bed, and wifi worked great. We would definitely return if our travel plans take us in that direction.
