Exceptional check-in experience

Recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
Escape to Pond Cottage, a peaceful countryside retreat set on an ancient farm. This charming detached cottage combines rustic character with modern comfort, thoughtfully restored using local materials. Enjoy fast 100+ Mbps Starlink WiFi, perfect for working remotely or streaming. Set beside a large picturesque pond, it offers a private setting with a south-facing enclosed garden and beautiful rural views—ideal for relaxing, dining outdoors, and unwinding in nature.

The space
Step into a welcoming semi open-plan ground floor, where a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen flows into a light, spacious yet cosy living area, complete with slate floors and a wood-burning stove—perfect for relaxing evenings.

Upstairs, an oak staircase leads to a dedicated workspace and two generous double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite shower room. Exposed beams and plentiful roof lights fill the cottage with warmth and natural light, while carefully chosen antique furnishings add charm and character throughout.

Outside, guests can enjoy access to a secluded outdoor pool (unheated), shared occasionally with the owners.

Guest access
Guests are free to explore the full 150 acres of our beautiful, 500-year-old stone-built farmstead and enjoy the secluded outdoor pool. Though no longer a working farm, the land remains full of life, with free-ranging geese and chickens adding to its charm. Wander through three apple orchards, a magnificent maturing arboretum, and a remarkable grove of 350 Giant Redwoods grown from seed—creating a truly unique and peaceful countryside setting.

Other things to note
Tucked away in a quiet and unspoilt corner of Mid Devon, the farm offers true peace and dark, star-filled skies—perfect for stargazing on clear nights.

Just 2.2 miles away, the charming village of Witheridge offers two local shops and a welcoming pub serving great food. In the opposite direction, around 3 miles away, you’ll find Rackenford, home to a village shop and a characterful, traditional gastro pub full of old-world charm.
