Sunny and spacious flat in upmarket golf development 12km from the town and beaches of St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie in the Vendée. Golf, bar, brasserie, restaurant, tennis and shared pool on site. First floor with lift access, 60sqm, 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4-5 plus 8.5sqm west-facing balcony. Ideal base for water sports (ocean and lakes), cycling on the Vendée's innumerable dedicated cycle tracks, or simply exploring the littoral, the salt marshes and the undulating 'bocage'.
Staying 12km from the coast allows you to come home to a haven of tranquillity in the evening, but with places to eat on the spot if you need them. And inland there are plenty of pretty spots to visit either by car or by bike, including lakes with and without bathing, pedaloes, small boats etc.
You've got the whole flat, with in addition your own secure underground parking space and a collective bicycle store for which you will also have a key. The pool is heated in the season and is free like the tennis and 'boules' but you might have to reserve a slot for tennis during busy times.
Other things to note
Before we came to live in the region we lived in England and came regularly to the flat on holiday, often at Easter or in September. The weather was usually warm and sunny, but should it not be, there is an efficient heating system using electric panels and an enormous tank for the hot water, at no extra charge.
We accept a 5th traveller at a supplement which varies according to the season.
