Beautifully refurbished Tree-Caravan situated inside a cluster of old pine trees & only 2 minutes walking distance from the sea bordering the property. Wild, unspoiled and part of natural park, stunning views across the ocean & amazing sunsets.
Comfortable double bed, fridge, gas stove and sun-deck with direct ocean view.
Elsewhere you may find units-under-tall trees. Here you are INSIDE an horizontal tree, embraced 360 degrees by its low branches. Privacy and exclusiveness is imperative here.
This is the only self-sustained Eco-Caravan -directly- on the sea front. It is the closest to all beaches in this district. Two minute walk to your own rocky beach.
The tree-caravan is part of the Cantinho Alberto Caeiro project which celebrates the poetry and philosophy of Portugal's famous poet: Fernando Pessoa and his pseudonym Alberto Caeiro.
The love for nature which he expresses can be found in this lovely space which is in the middle of a protected nature area and directly on the sea front. We let nature speak for itself without the need for fancy adornments.
-Your own rocky sea pools where you can let the waves crash over you .
-Located -Inside- a rare centenary horizontally grown typically Portuguese pine tree. You are surrounded 360 degrees by the trees' branches.
-Your own table, chairs and sun-deck from which you can view the sea.
-The Sintra mountains and the lights of the bay of Lisbon in the distance
-The tree-caravan is tastefully decorated with distinctive wallpaper, real wood cladding and cork.
-It has all basic amenities: 2-pit gas stove for cooking, a fridge and your own sunwarmed outdoor shower.
-The (dry) compost toilet is shared.
-The tree-caravan is situated within 15.5 acres (6.3 hectare) of agricultural land which gives you unparalleled privacy and exclusiveness (you can see but you cannot be seen ... )
-All beaches are nearby.
-The Village has a small supermarket, a great bakery, a coffee/lunch place and a few restaurants (NB No ATM). We have good contacts and are happy to advice you and book you a table.
Ask us about the good life and the answer is to stay here.
For more detail & practicalities:
-Merely 40 minutes from Lisbon. With your own car you would have greater autonomy which gives you the opportunity to explore the area really well.
However we also have a couple of bicycles available and upon request we can also pick you up from Santana (for a small fee) if you take the 207 bus from Lisbon.
You have access to all the land.
The main entrance is accessed via a good dirt road from the village of Azoia. You can exit the bottom of the land to go down to the rock pools or walk to the beach.
Interaction with guests
Nuno is resident in the land and always available for questions. If you want to know more about the Poet Alberto Caeiro, please ask him: he is an expert!
Other things to note
This is your own independent slice of heaven.
Because of the close proximity to the trees and the fact that the land is part of a protected area: strictly NO smoking inside the caravan and careful disposal of your ash and cigarette buds outside, NO candles and NO open fires.
Please note: after booking we will NOT accept any extra guests.
The tree caravan was build with a lot of love care and attention. Treat the tree caravan as if it was your own!
All damages that occur during the stay in the caravan are the full responsibility of the guests.

After 17 years of living in England where I started my PhD and worked as a University tutor, I decided to return to my native country Portugal.
I build my own house on Cabo Espichel (Sesimbra) on a piece of land bordering the Atlantic Ocean and where I used to spent my holidays as a child.
I love politics, nature, music and poetry: I have a sound knowledge of our famous Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa. For those who wish: I am available for lectures about his poetry.
