Nestled on the Western tip of the UK mainlands most remote peninsula, is a hotel unlike any other. If you are looking for that ultimate escape, a place where you can truly turn off the modern world, then Doune is it.
Each pine clad, spacious room has it's own entrance from the shore side terrace and is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and comfy seating. There are endless opportunities for walking, swimming, chatting with other guests or simply relaxing. You will love it!

The space
Doune is a remote, off grid guest house with a restaurant. Due to our location, we recommend that you book for dinner during your stay - to be honest, you really won't want to miss out! Dining is very much part of a stay at Doune, with a communal table and set menu, and the evening has been described as "like gate crashing a really cool dinner party"
We also offer packed lunches to take out with you as there are limited places to buy food on Knoydart.

Other things to note
Doune is only accessible by boat and on foot giving you two options for your journey. The most popular journey is aboard our own boat Gripper II which runs between Mallaig and Doune on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The second option is on the public passenger ferry run by Western Isle Cruises which takes you into Inverie on Knoydart. From here, there is a six mile walk on a single track road, followed by a 15 minute walk down a grassy path to Doune. On booking we will ask you to confirm your journey plans.
