Michel's place is in a very unique landscape. It is near the Swiss border, extremely convenient if you are travelling in the area. There are shops and some supermarket nearby (you just have to check the closing time). The view from the window is just stunning! Regarding the place itself, it is located on the ground floor or a typical alpine house. It has a private parking place just in front of it. There is a room with everything (bed, table, little kitchen, wardrobe). There is a small bathroom with everything that you might need. The bed is not a double bed. There is another bed underneath the other, but you can easily open it (Michel kindly helped us to do it). If you want to have bed linen you have to pay a little extra, as for the council tax. The kitchen has everything, it's just very small and compact. There are two hobs and a sink. The same with the bathroom, very small but equipped with the essential. There is also a TV with some channels. The surroundings are very scenographic. But keep in mind that the room itself is very little, this is not the place if you have lots of luggage or you are looking for a super nice house where just relax. Over all it is a great deal for the price.

Response from Michel:

Michel's place is cosy, well-equipped and well-situated in the heart of Châtel. The pull out bed is comfy and there is everything you need provided (bedding and towels are for hire though - we brought our own which was ideal for us as we were travelling Europe in our campervan). Michel is really helpful with info on the local area, especially skiing stuff as he is a ski instructor. Châtel is a stunning place, and when we were there (mid December) it was crisp, clear, sunny and 22 degrees! Beautiful views and friendly people made it a really pleasant place to spend the morning.

A cosy little studio, which has a perfect location in Chatel. Michel was a lovely host, who welcomed us, and provided an extra blanket for my young daughter in case she was cold, but the heating was more than sufficient. Excellent value as well. I highly recommend a stay in Michel's studio.

The home is a perfect little place for a weekend in Châtel! It is right by a street of restaurants and bars! The only downside was it smelled like cigarette smoke! The city has beautiful views as does the home!

This all-in-one, totally wood-clad apartment was perfect for our requirements, small but with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Clean and compact, it had a very comfortable bed (considering it's a pull-out double) and with a little furniture jigging there was enough room to comfortably fit our travel cot. The kitchen was small but well equipped, and the bathroom may have been tiny but the shower was great and there was plenty of hot water. The only negative of our stay was that noise from the apartment above is heard loud and clear, and lots of creaky heavy walking back and forth upstairs is not ideal when you're trying to get a baby to sleep. But overall we had a good night's sleep and there were no other disturbances. The road outside seems to be a busy one, and cars drive very quickly up the hill, so be aware if you have little ones toddling about. On the massive plus side, when you throw open the shutters in the morning, you are greeted by a spectacular view across the valleys and mountains, the very reason we chose to stay here, and Chatel itself is a lovely little town, so I can forgive a little traffic. The drive out and up through the mountains was also absolutely stunning, with endless photo opportunities. Overall, a great stay in a small but sweet apartment, and Michel the owner was friendly and helpful - so a def recommend from us!
