Your tranquil luxurious cozy cabin awaits overlooking forest & pasture in gorgeous Gibsons. Minutes to the beach & town, this pet-friendly 1 bdrm/1 bath cabin has a full kitchen, espresso machine, waffle iron, DW, W/D, BBQ, and private covered decks. Comes with waffle mix, coffee & tea. Queen bed in bedroom & twin trundle bed in main area. Fine linens, towels & bathrobes provided. $25 pet fee, per dog per booking. 5G Wifi in cabin. Due to Covid, only paid guests have access to farm and cabin.

The space
Peaceful pet-friendly deluxe cabin has stunning mountain/pasture views, hardwood cabinetry and a fully equipped kitchen for the inspired chef. Several indoor/outdoor lounging and dining areas to choose from. New skylights make it bright in the kitchen which comes with full size stove, fridge, DW, espresso machine, Breville milk frother, waffle maker, toaster, microwave, rice cooker/steamer, popcorn machine, blender, electric mixer, and Weber gas BBQ. Coffee, assorted teas, spices, condiments and pantry essentials, such as waffle/pancake mix, are provided. Herb garden and dwarf apple trees adorn the front deck where you can enjoy your morning latte on the outdoor sofa. Heritage fruit trees espaliered off the back deck where you can watch the sunset over the ponds, pasture and 80-year old Douglas Fir forest. The bedroom contains a queen organic foam mattress with organic bamboo bedding and fine linens. Bathroom comes with organic bamboo towels, bath robes, hairdryer and shampoo/conditioner. Living area has a comfy day bed with lots of pillows and plush blankets to snuggle in while you are watching the farm animals play. Enjoy a meal in the stunning pergola and outdoor dining table, made from reclaimed cedar logs found on the property. Relax in your cedar Adirondack chairs and gaze upon vibrant stars in the night sky as we are far from the glare of city lights. Solar lights give the property a beautiful glow in the evening. Families will be happy to hear the cabin comes with kid's toys and books. Please make sure these items are clean before putting away for the next family. The cabin has its own designated 5G fibre optic Wifi. There is no TV as we find farm animals to be so entertaining. New for 2019: solar panels, skylights, energy efficient windows and coming soon... quartz countertops.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy the area surrounding the cabin. Free parking is available in front of the cabin. Only paying guests have access to the farm and cabin. The yard around the cabin is fully fenced when the front gate is closed. Well behaved and cat-friendly dogs are welcome to be off-leash around the cabin. If your dog is aggressive to any animals please leave them at home. We need to make sure everyone is safe on the farm an we want guests to have a relaxing time as well. Please make sure you dispose of your dog poop in the outdoor garbage. Guests do not have access to the area around the main house where I live and the coop/fenced areas where the animals reside.

Other things to note
Hough Heritage Farm is a working farm with heritage breed cows, pigs, sheep, goats and chickens. You can enjoy watching the animals play in the pasture and ponds behind the 6 foot fence. Hough Road has beautiful walking trails at either end. The trail on the south end connects to a large field and the local elementary school playground. There are mountain biking and hiking trails nearby. The Sunshine Coast Golf and Country club is a 10 minute drive. Dakota Ridge Recreation Area is also nearby. The cabin comes with board games, cards and books. There is no TV. Many find the farm animals and local wildlife provide the best entertainment around. As Hough Road does not have street lights and no glare from city lights you will be able to star gaze to your hearts content. We are able to see the Aurora Borealis when it is active in our region.

Hough road is a picturesque and tranquil area of central Gibsons. It is a little slice of farmland and pastoral heaven only a few blocks from shops and cafes of upper Gibsons. Lower Gibsons is a 5 minute drive and there you will find the new Gibson's Public Market and many fine shops, cafe's and restaurants. Hough road joins up with two popular walking trails. The south end leads to a field and an elementary school with a new playground and the north end leads to Kearton trail. Hough Road connects to a network of trails that lead to the beach (Secret Beach and Bonniebrook Beach are a 20 min walk) and Gospel Rock with stunning views of Howe Sound and surrounding islands. Being on agricultural farmland we have several farmer's markets nearby.

I am an animal lover, and was once an avid traveller but have now traded the backpack for feedbags and am a proud small scale diversified farmer who raises free-range pigs, cows, goats and sheep, sustainably and ethically on the Sunshine Coast of BC, Canada. The ability to raise happy animals, grow healthy food and enjoy nature in the stunning, hip and vibrant small coastal community of Gibsons is a dream come true.

During your stay
I value your privacy. Due to Covid-19, I am practicing social distancing. I live on site and am available to greet you and show you the cabin. Only paying guests have access to the farm and cabin. No visitors please. As the farm keeps me busy, I am not around to socialize a great deal. I send a very informative email, please read it through. There are many great restaurants, cafes, farmers markets, cute shops, cool hikes and beautiful beaches nearby. Books, board games, cards, children's toys and farm animal bingo sheets are provided. Please clean after use.
