Welcome to our spacious family home, beautifully located in the popular seaside town of Saltsjöbaden. A perfect summer destination – surrounded by stunning islands, with walks to nearby beaches and a nature reserve off our back garden. Local restaurants and cafes within walking distance. And with the charming Solsidan train station and Bistro on the doorstep, central Stockholm is only a 25 min train trip away. A beach and nature lover's paradise that's ideal for one or two families to enjoy.

The space
The house is split into 2 floors with bedrooms and bathrooms on both levels – making it great for 2 families (7-9 people total) to live in at the same time. Wardrobes, drawers and cupboards will be cleared for guests to use.

The main entrance on the ground floor leads out to the front garden and patio area, while the top floor has doors straight out into the back garden.

Ground floor:
There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms coming off a spacious entrance hallway. Bedroom 1 is large enough to sleep 3 people – with 1 double bed (160x200), and 1 single. While bedroom 2 has a double bed (140x200). You also have a large living room, a large shower room, separate WC and a utility room with washing machine and dryer.

Top floor:
Upstairs are more bedrooms and bathrooms, along with the kitchen, dining area and main lounge. Bedroom 3 has a super-kingsize bed (210x200) with plenty of space for a baby bed. Bedroom 4 has a double bed (140x200). There is also a bathroom and separate WC.
The spacious kitchen and dining area face out over the back garden and nature reserve, with direct access to it from the dining room. The large living room has large windows that look out over the front garden and beyond. There is also a large front balcony off the living room, with fantastic views over the leafy neighbourhood and picturesque old train station.

Gardens:
Enjoy sunshine all day long with gardens all around the house, but especially the front and back. The south-facing front offers a big lawn for playing games and a stone patio for sunbathing a relaxing – with a nice connection to the neighbourhood and the local bistro/train station.
In contrast, the back garden feels like another world – where the garden melts into nature reserve, with tall Pine and Oaks trees, small herb gardens and a wooden terrace perfect for lunches in nature.

Where you’ll be

Saltsjöbaden, Stockholms län, Sweden

Our home is beautifully located in the sleepy turn-of-the-century seaside town of Saltsjöbaden, just 25 km southwest of Stockholm. The home to many early Swedish artists due to its incredible nature, the area has now become a hugely popular summer resort for travellers all over the world.

More specifically, our home lies in Solsidan, a lovely suburb made famous by Sweden’s most popular TV comedy show, Solsidan (where they continue to film new episodes even today). Like a gateway out to Stockholm’s sparkling archipelago, the area offers a world of secluded beaches, peaceful seaside walks, stunning marinas buzzing with sailing life, floating restaurants and bars, summer café’s, charming old bathing houses, and with ferries to take you out on day trips to nearby islands. With the idyllic island of Älgö just a 2 minute drive down the road, and a walk to the gorgeous Erstavik beach in the other direction, you are literally spoilt for day trip options.

On top of this, the area is a hiker’s dream. Our house borders on a spectacular nature reserve, with panoramic views of the entire region just a 10 minute walk up from our garden steps. Forest trails are never ending. Prepare to get wonderfully lost in nature.

I'm a proud father of three young children – living the family dream here in Sweden for nearly 15 years. Originally from the beautiful southwest England, I moved to Stockholm with my Swedish wife back in 2004. We both grew up by the sea and are huge beach-lovers. So it's no surprise that we have settled in one of Sweden's finest seaside areas – Saltsjöbaden!
