The rental has a small bedroom, a beautiful sitting room a private bath with shower and small deck. There are no kitchen accommodations other than a microwave and small refrigerator. There are 5 park-like acres across from the Esopus Creek in an 1870's farmhouse. Please note: the host will accompany all guests to their accommodation. We have a no pet policy.

The space

This small newly renovated farm estate was formally owned by a Mr. Goldman, a music conductor from New York city, but was most notably owned by 50"s TV star George Reeves of SUPERMAN fame. The property is also located across the street from the famous Esopus Creek touted as one of the best trout fishing streams on the east cost. We are also down the street from the Zen Mountain Monastery, Mt Tremper Arts, The Sonart Gallery, Sonart Recorning Studio, as well as close to the major ski areas. We are also on the NYC bus line.

Guest access

Guests have access not only to the two room sweet with their own private deck and bath but can enjoy walking around the estate viewing all of the flowers and gardens. there is a deck in the same vicinity where there is a picnic table to have lunch. One can also cross the street to access the Esopus Creek to swim or fish.

Other things to note

We do not have cell service at the house (the mountains) you can get it in Phoenicia. I also have a landline available if needed.

Quiet lovely little home. Great for Firefox mountain events! 20 min from Woodstock and a beautiful neighborhood all around. Really ideal for a single traveler. Need a car to get around! Ken was great, welcoming, and always available.

I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet of the woods all around, miles away from a town since I grew up in the area but I hadn't considered that there wouldn't be any cell phone connection. I was glad to have wifi. If only the Phoenicia Diner were open Sundays I could have eaten there everyday. Better than the average diner food. Take time to have a conversation with Ken. It's an interesting life he's built on the property. The rooms are comfortable and private and I'd definitely consider staying there next time I'm in the Woodstock area.

Lovely little suite for one. All very clean and cosy with homely finishes. I did not have a car but Ken kindly dropped me into the nearest town in the morning. I had a lovely stay.
