Great place! Expect more of a hostel vibe instead of living in a home with the owner. There are multiple other rooms in this one home that the host rents out to other AirBNBers. If you like socializing with other travelers, this would be great for you! The home is a little old, so don't expect a 5 star luxury place. But it is good and reasonable for the price. The washer and dryer and entire kitchen which they let us use for free is a great plus.
I had a wonderful time at Ibuki's place. The room is in a share house about 15 minutes walk from Nakano train station. The house is a little bit hard to find the first time (use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps and you'll be fine), but before long you'll know the route well. The room was clean and had everything I needed (including a lock on the door), and the shared facilities were always clean and well maintained. I never met Ibuki in person, but the caretaker Afam was lovely and easy to deal with. Very highly recommended and amazingly good value.
Ibuki was a really nice host. I arrived a bit late but he waited for me during 45 minutes. He showed me the place. It is a cozy room with all what I needed. The house is in Nakano, it is a bit far away from city centre but in 30/40 minutes you can arrive to any part of Tokyo. Internet is quite important for me and it was something provided by Ibuki. I meet Afam who is the guy responsible for the place. He was very helpful. I asked him a few questions about Tokyo and Japanese and he gave me useful tips.
