Very beautiful house. From the outside it seemed like an average home but walking in was an experience. Very nicely decorated, and furnished. It was mentioned that the house is old but other than a few doors that were hard to open I wouldn't have guessed. Very well-kept. Teri was also a very wonderful host. She accommodated me for an earlier check-in, and even had someone over to fix the hot water due to a mistake I had done. Overall a 5/5 star experience. I would definitely come back should I be in the area again, and recommend to friends who are the same.

Since I was already familiar with the beautiful home, I was thrilled to be able to stay there. Teri is a wonderful host and her communication was very timely and her descriptions were very accurate. I have already recommended Highlands Manor House to guests visiting the Alleghany Highlands and will continue to do so. Thanks for opening your home and providing a great place to stay!

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful, historic home. Everything was comfortable, tastefully decorated and perfectly cleaned. It easily fit our party of 6 (parents, grandparents, kids age 7 and 4), and it is so much more spacious than you can tell from the photos. The kids especially liked the attic space with the TV for movie nights and a place to play in the early morning. The kind hosts communicated with us very well and were easy to reach. I loved that all the necessities you would need to live in a home were available - linens, kitchen and bathroom items. It made staying here so effortless. The outdoor space is nicely landscaped and the kids loved playing out there. The home is situated at the top of the hill, at the top of the neighborhood, so it was very quiet. We stayed over Labor Day weekend and though the main living area warmed up during the day, it was never too hot, and we were able to air it out in the evening so that the house cooled down sufficiently each night. Close driving distance to downtown Clifton Forge restaurants and shops, and there is also Douthat State Park for cook outs, playground, and lake/beach area for boating and swimming. Great place to rent if you love the feel of staying in a historic home , we'll definitely be back!

This home was in great shape and had plenty of room for our entire family. We enjoyed a late game night at the large table and had a great time. Teri was very responsive and accommodating before, during and after our stay.

It was a nice stay. The house is old but beautifully cared for. The surrounding area is depressing, with several houses abandoned within 1 block and junk in front yards etc. It felt sad but safe. We will not visit this town again for this cycling event, but that's not host Teri's fault. :) As we were athletes racing in hot weather conditions, having a cool house to rest in was really key. The window units and fans did not feel sufficient.

Teri was an outstanding host. She provided all required information and necessities. Her home was precisely as described on the listing. The house is very old but it has been renovated and Teri kept a lot of the old charm. She did an excellent job decorating the house, too. Had a great time!
