The space
We have a couple of cabins and lodge nestled in the hillside of Lake Pillsbury Ranch. Pines, Madrone and Fir trees surround each structure. Our property is about 35 acres. There is ample space between the cabins but you are in shouting distance and plain view of them. Still plenty of privacy to enjoy fire pitc(operational in NON-HighFire Danger Season) or your deck space.
Huge polo field below to enjoy stargazing or fetch with your dog.
Horseshoe pit and hammock also available on grounds.
**All activities are seasonal. Please do your research if you are looking for a specific activity and ROAD CONDITIONS.
For example: Mid-August-January lake is no longer shore friendly. Unless you have a boat to use lake activities are no longer accessible.
**August-October-Pond and Creeks area all dried up. No Firepits allowed-High Fire Danger.
**Autumn- Highly recommended: Hang gliding, photography, kayaking, hiking, deer hunting and superb wildlife activity.
**Spring -(Mid March-Mid June)Hiking, fishing, kayaking, photos, boating, biking
**Summer-(Mid-June-Mid-Sept) HOT! Boating, swimming, Summer Fun!
**March-End of July- Ponds and creeks running

++our property provides plenty of room to tow in boats or trailered toys for your stay
++no 2 or 4 wheelers can be driven into ranch without being trailered
This area rest's the end of an hour long dirt road once you get through Potter Valley or Clear Lake Area. Well worth it and 2wheel drive accessible during summer and early fall months.
You have access to entire ranch area behind the gates. There are a couple hundred homes spaced out with paved one gravel roads. Please be respectful of other cabins, guests and full time residence that are on the property.
Please do not enter any buildings or gardens.

Co-op. Plenty of room for coolers to be stored to keep safe from bears.
I will be giving a guest code to enter gate to enter on directions once confirmed-

This is a truly unique area set in the Mendocino National Forest. We are off the grid here and fully operating on Solar Power in the summer. Way less crowded then Lake Sonoma and Tahoe but still within 4.5hrs hours of Bay Area. A good excuse to escape social media and traffic for a weekend!

All roads are dirt and slightly paved the last hour in. Drive with caution. Bring your bikes, boat or kayaks for more access to adventure during your stay. Always stay at about 15mph within the gated Ranch area.
Similar to camping list ,Pack: Bring smore's, flashlights ,cameras, bug spray, binoculars, ice for coolers, beach chairs and maps. Pack clothing for all types of weather. Pack all of your food for your stay. Only store is 15 minutes away and it's a bait, ice and beer kind of store. Grocery store is an hour and half away.
Remember there is no cell/internet service!!! You will feel so free without it. We have landline for emergencies.

Location

Lake Pillsbury, California, United States

Please note that we have a tight knit private community. Always, be vigilant to stay off of others property and always follow rules and respect community areas. We have wonderful pond (10 minute walk) full May thru July in the Lake Pillsbury Ranch. It has a playground and picnic facilities. Plenty of creeks and roads to walk within the gates. Please, keep dog on leash (even if others are not) at pond and in neighborhood. The Lake is only a 15 minute drive. Pine Point Beach on lake is great for non-boaters who want (dog friendly) lake access until August. A million acres of National Forest with the lake, tons of streams and views. The USFS is the territory surrounding our little ranch. only boat launch (fee) for access is at Lake Pillsbury Resort.
It is ideal for fisherman, boaters, hikers, hang gliders and sightseers. Please note; everything is different according to seasons. Late summer limits access to waterways. Winter limits access to roads if heavy snow and rain arrive.

During your stay
We do live on the property so we are always around for assistance. I highly encourage you to do your research on region before arrival since there is no wi-fi once here. I also provide a very detailed binder with Map in your cabin to reference during your stay. Please, refer to this binder before asking questions about area-It's most likely in the binder and on this page.
Please, respect that we do have to get work done and will be working in and around all areas of the property throughout the day.
This also means that children under the age of 13 and pets should never be left unattended on property or in cabins. Also, this space must be shared with other guests so please do not enter or approach other cabins or the lodge with out permission.
We do occasionally host a big fire pit for our guests if we have the time on big weekends.
