Take the opportunity to live on a boat in Tobago. The boat is at anchor in Mount Irvine, the south west coast of Tobago.
Mount Irvine is internationally known to be a prime surf spot and the surf break is at paddle distance from the boat!

Tobago is by far one of the Caribbean island which is not overrun by tourists. You will truly get an unique experience!

Additional activities: sailing day trip up the coast, fishing trip, snorkling, diving, a tour of the island - everything can be arranged!

The space
Imagine that you just have ten footsteps from your bed to your morning swim. If you treasure being situated right in the middle of nature and enjoy private and quiet times, this is the holiday spot for you. So many things to do. Snorkling, diving, fishing. Sometimes manta rays swim around peacefully next to the boat and the marine life is diverse and beautiful.

Boat life can probably be related to a remote holiday cottage if this gives you a better idea. The toilet flush by operating a hand pump, the cooker is a gimble gas stove and oven, only 12 V electricity and the cockpit outside is the greatest place to sit with your morning coffee.
The cabin where you sleep has a big skylight which gives natural ventilation and a great view up at the stars when laying in bed.
The boat is at anchor approx 150 meters from the shore. A 5-7 min rowing distance in the 8ft long rowing dinghy.

On top of that the boat is anchored close up to the best surf break in the South Caribbean and a great reef to snorkle. Enjoy!

Where you’ll be

Black Rock, Western Tobago, Trinidad & Tobago

The boat is anchored in a very safe bay called Mount Irvine Bay.

The area is very local and you will never feel the place overrun by tourists.
At Mount Irvine beach there is a beach bar serving food and drinks during the day and staying open till 8pm most evenings. Furthermore there is also water sport rentals, fish market, shower and bathroom facilities.
Mount Irvine has parking facilities and a 24h security guard on site.

5 min walk up the road from the beach you find the village Pleasant Prospect. Here you can find a grocery shop, fruit and veg stall, several bars and restaurants and street food. You can get more or less everything you need. But remember, the 'supermarket' is underneath the boat. Mount Irvine bay is really good for fishing!

Back in 2014 I signed off as crew from a Danish wooden ketch, after a year and a half sailing in the Caribbean Sea. I found myself in a pool of boats for sale in Chaguaramas, Trinidad. The idea of owning my own boat became very tempting... I then desided to buy a boat. Bought one I could afford. Had one hellavu (in both its meaning)time fixing it up. I have been based in the Caribbean since. Love the islands, the fishing, the simple boat life. Hopefully we will meet one day!
