The Maison Anila has had many guises and a colourful history; A former property of the Lords of Barjac, it has also been the bread oven of the village, it was demolished during the Revolution and rebuilt in the 18th century when it became the property of the Counts of Roure. The house still retaines its original appearance, a classic Southern French stone house build around a tower, with an internal spiral staircase opening onto a first floor patio.

Pierre was not there to meet us but arranged for a friend to and she came and met us and gave us access. The apartment was very centrally located to Barjac and very pretty and clean. There is a communal small indoor courtyard where you could sit and have a drink or perhaps dinner. Easily walkable to car parking spaces. It would have been nice if some basic supplies had been provided such as tea or coffee and Pierre does not provide towels or sheets! So you either have to bring your own or pay an extra €35 for them. But we were not even told this on arrival or beforehand so we did not realise until our first evening that there weren't any. Pierre did agree to supply them for free after a quick txt chat however I do not think guest should be expected to pay this. It's a bit of a trap as these are basic things everyone needs. Photos also suggest the apartment is bigger than it is. It's more like a large ish studio flat as really only big enough for two people. It also gets very cold in the evenings though there are heaters which we used, however I'd recommend taking some socks to wear. Also no info provided in the flat regarding local amenities or the wifi code which we had to text Pierre for. Still a pleasant stay though.
