A bit of a hidden treasure, this cabin is both close to all that Baxter/Brainerd has to offer and yet feels a million miles away from it all. Loved the sand bottom, you can walk out 50 feet and still only be in to your waist (so great for the kids). By early July the water was cool but not as icy as we'd expected so there was swimming every day. We spotted deer, loons, bald eagles, osprey, dozens of songbirds, bunnies, frogs, and more from the screened in porch and while looking out the huge lake-facing windows. There are crisp white sheets on the beds and you can take a hot shower with good water pressure. Brian was quick to respond to any needs and a great host. You will find some cobwebs in corners, dust on the curtains, and chips on almost every plate. I've suggested to Brian that pots and pans be replaced as most were not in cooking condition. The dock does start with a section that is, at most, two feet wide, which was quite precarious for adults and even more so for the little ones. And unless you have several very strong people in your group, the boat isn't easily lifted down from it's place ashore, which is several feet above the waterline. Despite these things, we enjoyed our 2+ week stay, the cabin felt like home and we were very sad to leave!

We enjoyed our stay at Brian's place. It was right on the lake with a great view. The furnishing is a little outdated but still in good shape. There were more than enough amenities to use. The area was quite buggy but tolerable with bug spray. There is a row boat but I would highly recommend bringing your own boat or motor if you plan on going out on the lake. Overall it was a nice little getaway!

We had a great time at Brian's Place. It is a true Minnesota Cabin Experience. The lake and setting is beautiful and the fireplace is great. It is very secluded and private. The cabin is from the 1960s and has a great retro look. We had an ample supply of fire wood and all the towels, linens, pots pans and dishes that we needed. Everything was clean and the beds are comfortable. If you are looking for fancy, this is not it. The bathroom is old but functional. It was a little musty until we aired it out and had a fire but then it was great. We recommend this cabin.
