The space

Clean one-room cabin with wood stove near the Cache La Poudre River and Old Town Fort Collins. Private access and parking in safe and quiet semi-rural neighborhood. Kids and pets welcome in our large fenced yard complete with shaded patio with outdoor fireplace, gardens, 1 dog and 10 chickens. We're an adventurous couple with two daughters who like to cook, garden, raft, kayak, rock climb, backpack, hike, flyfish, run, knit, and mountain bike. We've lived in Colorado our entire lives and over 20 years in Fort Collins and can give you lots of great suggestions for the area. If you're flying in there's no need to rent a car since we're just one block from a bus stop or you can borrow one of our townie bikes and take the Poudre River trail 2.5 miles to Old Town, Odell or Equinox Breweries. Take the trail 3 miles west to Laporte to hear some honky-tonk or bluegrass at the Swing Station. The cabin has a comfy queen sized bed and we can add a cot or inflatable mattress upon request. Guests can access the bathroom and shower through the back door of the main house (just 5 feet away). The cabin also has WIFI, electricity and electric heater (but no AC). You're welcome to use the dining room, kitchen, stove and fridge in main house. Pets are welcome, there's even a doggy-door so your pet can go in and out as it pleases. Please add each pet as an additional guest. Kayakers and rafters are welcome! We're only 15 minutes to some of the best whitewater in Colorado. The Cache La Poudre River is protected as one of the last "Wild and Scenic" rivers in the United States. From DIA take Greenride or Supershuttle right to our doorstep ~$48.

The cabin was a surprise when we realized no bathroom in the cabin. We had to leave the cabin and enter owners house to use the facilities. This is not very convenient for older people. We were disappointed in our first AirB&B rental. The reviews looked good but no mentioned of how minimal the cabin was. Electricity limited as well as TV. Motel 6 would have been preferred and probably cheaper.

Response from Annie & Dave:
With all due respect, bathroom and TV situation is explained in the listing. Every airbnb is unique and so it's critical to fully read the listing so you know what you're signing up for. As for the burned-out outlet, I replaced that today.

Annie and dave were great at communicating and were nice, they were great hosts. However, the room was sub par, the carpets cleanliness created an aroma that wasn't very pleasing and I saw a few bugs and spiders, thankfully none were on or in the bed, it was fine for just the night but I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.

Response from Annie & Dave:
Hi Richelle, I sincerely apologize about the smell, the guests the night before left without notifying us that their dog peed on the carpet. We did our best to clean it but apparently that wasn't enough. We plan to have a professional carpet cleaning on Monday. As for spiders, I wasn't aware of that until now but will take care of them as well.

Cozy, welcoming, and down-to-earth. Annie and Dave really roll out the red carpet and open their home to guests. Lots of local knowledge and bicycles to help with adventures. Highly recommend!

Annie and Dave exceeded all expectations. Their home was beautiful and clean. Their animals were ADORABLE. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met. My mother stayed here while visiting me in Fort Collins and they took such wonderful care of her. I look forward to recommending people here in the future. Thanks Annie and Dave!

The nicest hospitality and a lovely little space. I had a very welcoming and cozy stay in Fort Collins at Annie & Dave's place. Would be happy to stay there again on another trip to the area.

We're a laid-back yet adventurous family who love to be outdoors and travel. David is the Executive Director for international social justice organization and Annie is an Esthetician. We both grew up in Colorado and love to garden, knit, raft, kayak, hike, rock climb, mountain bike, snowboard and more. We live with our two daughters, 6 chickens, and 1 dog.
