Perfect for a romantic couples vacation, girlfriend wine getaways, families who want home cooked meals and a cozy living room, or for others wanting all the comforts of home in a much more spacious area than a hotel room. Fantastic proximity to tons of wineries/breweries, Finger Lakes, fall foliage, Watkins Glen hiking and racing, Corning glass. Extensive tourist information is provided once you make a reservation, including local events, menus, and live music that coincide with your visit.
My home is a 2400 square foot brick colonial with three floors and three available bedrooms, all of which have window a/c units (seasonally). The three bedrooms (two full, one queen) are all upstairs and share one full bathroom with shower/tub. Two bedrooms have ample closet space but the queen bedroom does not. The main floor has a half bath, formal dining room, eat in kitchen, and enormous living room (with gas fireplace, flatscreen television, wii, dvd, games and piano). There are several couches and lots of floor space here that can accommodate additional guests. An air mattress is provided for large groups. Walk through two french doors into the three-season furnished sunporch which is a great spot for coffee on summer mornings. Help yourself to the washer and dryer and laundry supplies. The basement includes a cozy finished family room with couches, electric fireplace and television. A large fenced in backyard offers both covered and uncovered furnished patio spaces for your outdoor enjoyment, including a wood burning chiminea (firepit) and brand new gas grill with an attached propane tank. Firewood onsite (donations appreciated if you use the wood). Feel free to wheel out the hammock from beneath the covered patio for a relaxing nap. A cute outbuilding in the backyard is a furnished clubhouse with electricity for the kids! If you would find it convenient, optional Breakfast Package and/or Snack Packages are available for purchase, must inquire at least one day in advance. Payment can be made through this site for those optional items.
Please use the rear entrance to the house using the code I provide you in the days leading up to your arrival. My driveway can accommodate four vehicles. Overnight street parking is allowed, excluding winter months. Two garage parking spaces (in the detached garage) are available upon request for a nominal fee, please inquire.
Interaction with guests
I may or may not be present when you arrive but will leave a welcome note and information. I will be always reachable on my cell phone and will likely be only a five minute drive away at any time. Many brochures and menus of local restaurants are on site for your use. Check in and check out times are flexible depending on other reservations, please inquire. Transportation services may be available (for a wine tour for example) for a fee, please inquire in advance. If you'd like to borrow two hybrid/mountain bikes, you must inquire in advance so I can ensure tires are inflated and the bikes are accesible. Easy roads to bike on.
Other things to note
The home is on a residential street of single family homes which backs to the local public high school. Sidewalks line the street, and the neighborhood is very pleasant and safe to walk around. You will be a short walk or drive to the grocery store, post office, bus stop, drug stores, police station, liquor store, library and various restaurants. A few walkable blocks from home can offer you some dining and nightlife as well. There is very little traffic and only one or two traffic lights nearby.
No pets allowed. Absolutely no exceptions regarding smoking indoors, feel free to smoke outdoors but clean up after yourself.
I am an accountant who loves road biking and adventure activities such as whitewater rafting, kayaking, skiing and zip lining. I love cooking and recently became an empty nester as my two kids are away at college. My big house can now accept guests!
