We turned a friends wedding at pebble cove into an extended weekend getaway and used Ellen’s place as our base camp, which was about at 20 minute walk to pebble cove farms. We returned late one night from wedding activities and Ellen was gracious enough to call to make sure we could find her place ok. She even stayed up late and had a spot light ready to direct us to make sure we could find the cabin ok. Talk about a great host! We found there was almost no reason to even leave the area around the cabin! So many areas to explore right within the area. Multiple lakes/ponds to swim in, mountains to summit, and veggies to eat directly from the garden. This was an excellent place to disconnect (as cell service was spotty) and get away from the day to day grind. This spot is a gem and a reminder of what life on orcas island should continue to be like for the next 100 years. We look forward to returning next summer and bringing our dogs as well.

Ellen is a wonderful host who welcomes you to her home with opening arms. The house is magnificent and includes access to an amazing garden full of fresh veggies/fruit. You couldn't ask for a more relaxing location, including a swimming pond!

Great cottage in the woods! Very peaceful with a garden nearby. Ellen was very accommodating and providing everything we needed and brought toys for our friend's toddler and we could pick veggies and berries from the garden.

We really enjoyed staying at this property. It was within walking distance of the Wedding we attended. Ellen was great and we would certainly stay here again if ever back on Orcas Island.

I love to share my beautiful, quiet piece of nature with people from the city. I love to meet people from other parts of the world. I love to show people the remains of the settlement that was here over 100 years ago.
