Casinha no morro de Calhetas, linda praia isolada no litoral norte de SP, entre as praias de Toque-Toque Grande e Toque-Toque Pequeno. A casa é simples, mas muito gostosa.

The space
It's a simple hut that my parents decided to build when I was 15 years old, and used to go every weekend to Maresias. They ended up finding this piece of land on the top of the mountais in Calhetas. When they saw the beach, they were sure this was the right spot. And they made the right decision. Today all the beaches on this coast have tremendously changed, whilst Calhetas is still well preserved, since it does not allow access by car. The house has a parking place for one car, and we access to the beach is done by walking. The picture #19 shows the path. It's worth it! When we're not in the mood of walking, we take the car and go either to Toque-Toque Grande or Toque- toque Pequeno, the two beaches neighbours to Calhetas. They are easy to access and offer enough parking places. Toque-Toque Pequeno has a nice restaurant called Pimenta de Cheiro.

Where you’ll be

São Paulo, Brazil

São Sebastião is a 20 min drive from our place. It's a colonial city with plenty restaurants on the shore. Have an ice-cream at Rochinha. Or take the ferry to Ilhabela. During the 16th century, the Portuguese set up military points on the shore of the island. Now Ilhabela is a popular sailing point, full of restaurants and coffee shops. There are 41 beaches on the island. The ones located along the channel are in general urbanized and feature calm to moderate waves. The ones facing the ocean are clean and less affected by humans, besides featuring stronger waves, which attracts surfers. These can only be reached by foot and/or by boat, the exception being Castelhanos. Bonete was considered the ninth best beach of Brazil by The Guardian.
