Tidy, cheerful, and practical bedroom and private bathroom in our beautiful historic home in downtown Northampton. Perfect for a single guest; not suitable for two or more. The double bed is firm and cozy, our linens are all-cotton, & our decor is comforting, antique farmhouse. We welcome our guest to relax on our front porch with rockers and picnic table. You will get an authentic Northampton experience staying in our home.

The space

Our entire Victorian home is neat, beautiful, and cozy. The photos speak for themselves. In warm months, our yard is replete with flowers, stone walls, fruit trees, pathways, happy backyard chickens, and carriage barn. Our place has a cool, urban homestead quality to it and reflects our environmental ethics and antique aesthetic.

Guest access

Our guest will have private (exclusive) access to the nearest bathroom. It includes an antique claw foot bathtub (no stand-up shower), and an eco-friendly washbasin that diverts gray water into our toilet tank.

Interaction with guests

We are a warm, progressive, & friendly family that enjoys hosting and also respects our guest's need for privacy and quiet. We take cues from guests regarding the level of interaction they prefer, and for those who want to be social, we have made some truly wonderful, memorable connections. We are very well-heeled in the Northampton community, and therefore happy to give friendly advice and guidance about any aspect of living and recreating here.

Other things to note

We have two exceptionally polite teenage children who are into arts, reading, nature, & theater. We also have an extremely well-behaved one-year old pup, and a kitten that is wildly cute & entertaining. Neither pet enters our Airbnb bedroom, and no one, (including highly allergic folks who've stayed with us), have ever had allergic reactions to our cat. A friendly UMass professor shares our house; his space is exclusively on the third floor and he is away every weekend.

You can’t beat this location. The house is close to the center of town yet is on a quiet, safe street. Lilly was a responsive and considerate host and the house is lovely. I came expressly for resolving an issue I’m having with a character in my novel. One main theme is gender and identity. I didn’t have to scout long to find the exact characters I needed for inspiration. It’s a one of a kind city with interesting people. I loved it and hope to return soon.

Beautiful old home with a small bedroom and private bathroom across the 2nd floor landing. The only issue was there was no shower, just a tub that was only set up for Baths.

Response from Lilly:
Thanks for your feedback, Ross. Regarding our bathroom, we are 100% transparent in our Airbnb listing, and I'm guessing that you didn't read our the details. Here they are: "Our guest will have private (exclusive) access to the nearest bathroom. It includes an antique claw foot bathtub (no stand-up shower), and an eco-friendly washbasin that diverts gray water into our toilet tank." Thanks again for staying with us!

I enjoyed another wonderful stay at Lilly's beautiful, comfortable home. AirBnB asks if anything was extra special, and I'm only allowed to choose one thing, but there were so many things that were extra special that I just have to say it here: sparkling clean, outstanding hospitality, quick responses, stylish space, amazing amenities, AND thoughtful touches. It's all true!! I look forward to my next visit ;-)

Lilly is indeed a superhost. The place is set up very clearly. The location is a perfect spot for great rest with access to Northampton's downtown. The room is nice. Wish I could've had more time to hang out, but Lilly was super flexible and supportive of my fluctuating travel needs on a one night trip. Nice to connect with other people who care about making the world better.

My mother in law stayed here for the weekend of my wedding and had a wonderful and comfortable experience. It is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Northampton, and Lily and John were excellent hosts!
