Rio Nido is a 1920's era Vacation area for residents of the San Francisco area with lots of history. From the ancient redwoods that surround the area to the pee-wee golf course and the Roadhouse where you can take a swim and grab a bite to eat, this is the perfect location. Located just minutes from the fun and casual resort town of Guerneville on the banks of the Russian River. It is an extremely popular spot to come and kayak, canoe, swim and fish in the Russian River. Within five minutes you are at Armstrong Woods State Park, which is home to an old growth redwood forest, picnic area, and miles of spectacular hiking. To the west you pass through the towns of Monte Rio and Duncan's Mill on the way to Jenner and the Pacific Coast. To the east is Korbel Champange Cellars and over 100 boutique and well-known wineries including Kendall-Jackson and Ferrari-Carrano. An afternoon's drive can easily take you to Napa County and Guerneville is only about an hour plus to San Francisco. Great food, great wine, natural beauty and unlimited outdoor activities- this is why we make Guerneville and the Russian River area our home.

From the house its a short walk down to the Roadhouse and pool with the Russian River just across the main road. The walk to Guerneville is a bout two miles so if you want to leave the car parked and enjoy a walk in the woods this is the perfect way to do it.

Really good looking house. The decks were awesome. Very close to the river (you can access it, and some rope-swings, through a tunnel near the Roadhouse, before you hit 116) . Very enjoyable place to stay.

My three friends and I split this cabin for a New Year's eve getaway and had a wonderful time. The place is really well decorated and taken care of; you can tell the owners enjoy making it special. We loved the fireplace in the living room and that we could all hang out in there while cooking dinner. The rooms were beautiful and beds comfortable. Plus there is a bathroom in each room, which is a major bonus. The owner was really nice, helping us park and taking us on a tour of the property. He even left us a couple of local gifts to celebrate the new year! Word to the wise: it is really difficult to park more than one car here, so if you can carpool, I'd recommend it. Space is really tight up there so it takes quite some maneuvering to fit a second car. Otherwise we loved this spot. It was nice to be secluded up in the woods and watch the fog roll past the redwood trees. It was a very cozy winter getaway and we'd definitely come back to stay.

Really fun, unique experience. Nice views of the trees. Comfortable beds. It's a great place if you plan to eat out a lot. Not great for cooking meals (no dining table and lack of lighting in the main room). Also note that you have to go outside to access the two bedrooms downstairs.

We've been traveling to Barbados for 20 years to stay connected with our family on the island. We've owned BK Villas since 2007 and enjoy providing two amazing apartments to vacation guests from all over the world.

My parents grew up in San Francisco and spent summers in Rio Nido California and my Mom had decided to retire in the area and make her home available for AIRBNB guests.
