Where you’ll be

Encounter Bay, South Australia, Australia

The house is located in a more quiet area but there is so much to do in and around Victor Harbor, for example:
- enjoy the Beach House Restaurant at the Esplanade, great Italian and Indian food (yes, its correct) and they brew their own 'Bluff' beer, great atmosphere and interior, often life bands and artists.
- walk to the Bluff on the famous Heysen trail and enjoy the views.
- if you are lucky you might see whales, seals and dolphins are more frequent :-)
- visit Granite Island, walk across the bridge or use the Horse tram, walk around the whole island, its amazing and perhaps see the Fairy penguins at dawn.
- go on a Steam ranger train trip, it is quite an experience.
- visit the Whale Centre
- visit the Urimbirra Wildlife park. It is family owned, cheap and really exciting. You can even pet the Koalas free of charge and feed the animals; buy the food at the counter, its very cheap, around a dollar a bag.
- visit the surrounding wineries, so many of them with excellent wines.
- go to Waitpinga National Park, you might be all alone there, stroll the beach for kilometres, no houses, but big surfs ...
- play Golf at McCracken Country Club
- enjoy the Country Pubs in Victor Harbor
- take the kids to the adventure playground or funfair in Summer
- go shopping in Victor, Mall 7-day trading, eg. Wollie's open 7am to 9pm every day (Sun 8pm) or stroll along the shops on Ocean Street
- visit the country market (every second Sunday) and the local Country food market every Saturday morning.
Visit Port Elliot and Horseshoe bay with the award winning Fish Restaurant.
- and sooooo much more

about me... this always is the hard bit. Well, I am a happy person, migrated with my husband to Australia many years ago and it was one of the best things we have done. Australia is so beautiful, we met so many nice people and feel so fortunate to just be here. We love spending time at our Holiday house, visiting the surrounding areas and wineries.
