The loft is on the groundfloor of a typical tuscan country house.
The house is surrounded by an immense garden with ancient oak trees that merges naturally with the surrounding landscape. The swimming has a breathtaking 180° view of Val d'Orcia.

The space

The loft is on the groundfloor of the countryhouse my family and I live in.
The house is surrounded by an immense garden with ancient oak trees that merges naturally with the surrounding landscape.
Two doors of the loft directly open on the garden, where you have a table, chairs and a few deckchairs and a Bbq set.
The loft consists in an open space (about 100 m2), a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower and tub.
The open space consists of a fully furnished kitchen with marble counters and everything you will need to prepare delicious meals during your stay, there is a fireplace with a few comfortable armchairs, two tables and plenty of chairs and, in a corner of the room, a double bed.
The separate bedroom is essential and the bathroom right in between the two spaces.
The loft is an amzing space full of light and warmth thanks to the wooden floors. The breathtaking tuscan landscape is just a step away!
We created this space in order to make you feel at home.
As I live on the spot I will be happy to help you anytime and make the best of your days in the valley.

The house is set in between the clay hills of the Orcia Valley that was declared UNESCO world Heritage site in 2004, the Valley extends between Pienza, the Mount Amiata and Siena and is home to many picturesques medieval villages and hamlets, the famous tuscan Brunello wine and other excellent wines, amazing pecorino cheese farms, olive oil groves, and a number of hot water springs.
Many interesting towns as Siena, Perugia, Orvieto, Arezzo and Cortona are within an 1 hour drive. Smaller places as Montalcino, Cetona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Sarteano are much closer but well worth a visit.
I've made a comprehensive guide with all my favourite things to do in the area (food, markets, sightseeing, shopping etc) that you will find upon your arrival in the loft.

On request we can organize:
- cooking classes:
a personal chef who will prepare your favourite meal at home, able to meet special requests as vegetarian and vegan cooking
- massages
- wine and cheese tastings
- mountain bike rental
- guided tours with an english speaking guide

We stayed at Helena's place for a blissful few days in September. The view from the pool is particularly spectacular, the house is comfortable and the photographs well-represented the place. There is a friendly kitten and chickens. Helena is an excellent host - she gave us useful information in the area. We loved the place, and highly recommend staying there!

We can highly recommend a stay at Le Terre 1948, Helena is the perfect host: Extremely knowledgeable about the area, she was always happy to make reservations for us, she organized a wine tasting and gave us plenty of other good adresses. The place is ideal for visiting the charming villages in the area, Monticchiello, Montepulciano, Pienza etc are all within 20-30min by car. The loft was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed in it. We will happily come back!

We stayed at Helena's villa for five wonderful days in September. Everything was beyond our expectations: the design and pleasant space of the villa and the magnificent surrounding landscape. Helena is so nice and gives excellent recommendations for places in the surroundings. We tried a few and always was successful. A few minutes from the villa is the restaurant of her friend, we had a great dinner there on the first day, the atmosphere is homely and local, the design is lovely and the food is wonderful. So we very recommend coming here for a relaxing holiday, I wish we could go back again.

Our stay with Helena was the highlight of our three week trip. The Loft is even more stunning than the photos suggest. The pool is great and the views are breathtaking. It is the perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries. A meal at Asia's restaurant is a must and would recommended walking there. There is lots to do in the surrounding area - we stayed 5 nights and wished we'd stayed at least a week. Thank you for sharing your special place Helena!!

We stayed at Helena's for 3 nights to attend a wedding at La Foce. The Loft is a fantastic open space - thoughtfully finished, lovely & cool and very peaceful. The pool was a real bonus for the few hours downtime we had between wedding celebrations and exploring the area. We would highly recommend it and would love to return for a longer trip.

The Loft is situated down a stunning loose gravel road - so you need a car with high suspension e.g. a small jeep but we were fine with a Fiat Panda ! Helena is a charming host and DopoLavoro the local restaurant is wonderful. Although it is set in a stunning valley, very peaceful, Helena has provided a very thorough list of restaurants and activities to do in the area. Bring your good walking shoes to go hiking. Come for rest and relaxation and for the italian food.
