HOWEVER, there is a Laundromat conveniently located in Kaimuki which is 3 miles away.
It's called "Kaimuki Laundromat" they are open every day from 6 am to 9 pm.

Interaction with Guests:
Most of our guests are repeats to the lovely island of OAHU and they are very knowledgeable and don't need much interaction except check in and check out. However, if there is some resource that I can provide just ask, i.e., tours, a personal tour guide, a great snorkel area.

KAHALA is a upscale neighborhood close to Waikiki and Diamond head. Check out the neighborhood on the Internet.

If you like to be loud and party at night this would not be a good fit for you. I would highly recommend staying in Waikiki it's a fun party location. I love hanging out in Waikiki it's a blast!

We live close to KAHALA Mall about a half mile away. The mall has a drive-thru Starbucks, Macy's, Long's Drug store, ROSS , Whole Foods, lots of sushi restaurants, movie theater and a US post office.

Here are some GREAT places I get asked about: PLEASE RESEARCH PRIOR TO ARRIVAL:
all easily accessible and within walking distance, a bike ride or a short drive.

On Saturday morning at 7:30 A.M. there is an awesome outdoor Farmer's market near Diamond at Kapiolani Community College (1 and a half miles from our home) Good local food and souvenirs.

Traveling the island:
WALKING is always a great alternative to driving or taking the bus.
THE BUS is a great feature can (EMAIL HIDDEN) for all of the latest schedules and timetables. The bus stop is two blocks from the house.
Renting a car is highly recommended... the parking is in front of the house. It's very convenient and safe. A potential savings of $30 to $40 a day, if you were staying in a hotel and had to pay for parking.
A TAXI, UBER, OR LYFT are also transportation alternatives.

****If you're here for a short amount of time, I would suggest renting a car so that you can move around the island quicker and see a lot of things in a short amount of time.

Other Things to Note:
Please don't leave leftover food in the room as we will have buggies...
Please wash off the sand from your feet with our outdoor hose, thank you.
If you forget something let me know I might have it.

Alicia is lovely and her home is centrally located. There is no A/C so keeping the shades down on the windows was very helpful. She has two sweet dogs, but that is worth noting if you’re prone to allergies. The room is simple and as described. There was also access to all shared spaces in her home which was nice. Parking on the street is ample.

Really comfortable, cozy home! Only 10min away from Waikiki strip and a short drive to the beach! Convenient street parking. Very accessible, there is a mall and a nice amount of stores right down the street for anything you need. Shared bathroom was never a problem. Alicia was a very kind and helpful host! Her dogs are so so cute but unfortunately they did a lot of barking, outside our window, every morning and woke us up early often. Overall, we had a lovely time at Alicia's beautiful home!

Response from Alicia:
Aloha, I'm glad you two girls enjoyed your stay. My apology if the the little 17 year old dog woke you! The same age as your little sister:) you guys must of slept in very late!!! As our neighborhood is definitely for the early riser, as all neighbors are out either surfing, running, or walking their dogs all before work:) Hawaii in general is for the early risers...I'm glad my International exchange student from Japan was very considerate with the bathroom sharing:) As you and your little sister were the only other guests sharing that bathroom and sand was always a problem in the bathroom and throughout the house. My student does not enter the house with sandy feet....under the bathroom sink were plenty of cleaning supplies if there was something that ever needed to be tidied up, or you could've just communicated what it was you needed to be cleaned...again, I'm glad you and your little sister enjoyed your stay with us:) Aloha!

Alicia's home is very cosy and perfectly spotless, she is very welcoming and we were greeted by her two lovely doggys. Lovely place to stay, great location with a mall within walking distance and 10 minute drive to the busy streets of Waikiki. Definitely a great place to stay, would stay again.

Alicia's place was great! She knows the island really well, and was super attentive to any questions I had about the space. She gave some good recommendations, as well as thoughtful comments about homesharing in Hawaii. I would recommend this place to any and everyone, and would for sure stay again.

Alicia's place was just as described, very comfortable family home. Far enough away from Waikiki to be away from most of the tourists, but still close enough to the major sites. It is an easy drive to other beautiful areas of Ohau. Alicia was really friendly and gave us lots of advice on the best beaches and great places to eat, at half the prices of Waikiki.
