The space

The Lanai (deck) is the best feature to the property. Here in Hawaiʻi we live outside with the elements. The Studio has a back lanai, is a private screen place to sit relax and listen to the nature around you mosquito free; it is also the second bedroom. Please Note SECOND bedroom is the futon outside on the screened Lanai (Deck). The Hale (house) sits on a beautiful 1 acre with its own Private Well Water. The water truly is exquisite to drink and Bathe in.

Convenient Location, 20 Minute drive to the Lava viewing in Kalapana, and 30minutes from Hilo, 40 minutes from Volcanoes National park. A centralized location for all the sight seeing.

This is a Farm Hale (home). Animals do roam the property freely, this includes Cat, dogs, sheep, chicken and birds. If you have any allergies to cats and/or dogs please let me know in advance. (They are not allowed inside the home but may want to be petted) This private apartment comfortably sleeps two adults, with 2 additional people on the outside futon.

Super easy as a last minute booking, late night check in was so convenient. Can't beat the price, and the location was great, close to hot springs and Hilo!

My friend and I stayed at Kealoha's hale for one night since we were passing through to do the Kalapana lava flow hike and Kapoho tidepools. It was cute and cozy until we took showers and used the towels. They had a weird, smelly odor and felt dirty. In addition, the bathroom seemed as if it hadn't been cleaned before our arrival. Also, coming back at night to sleep after our 10 mile hike to the lava flow, we lifted the sheets and found foreign hairs and stains on the sheets. We decided that our beach towels would do a better job in keeping us warm than the dirty sheets. And lastly, if you don't like/are afraid of bugs, don't stay here - we found quite a few cockroaches on the walls of the kitchen at night. Unfortunately, we wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was very beautiful. You can hear the jungle the whole day and night. You have your own space and a great patio. The location is also pretty good for exploring Hilo and the Volcano. We would stay here again.

The apartment was very clean and more spacious than I expected. The lanai and futon made a great extra bedroom for our son. Animals and jungle location were charming. There was a note to be respectful of other tenants, but we didn't see anyone else during our stay - very private. The coqui frogs did chirp all night, but earplugs were thoughtfully provided. My husband used them and slept fine. I found them soothing. Basic, but a very good value.
