Guests appreciate it when their host offers fresh perspectives and helps them learn something new. Share your background and knowledge to make their experience special.

Sharing in person

Connecting with your guests builds trust and helps them better understand what you bring to the experience.

  • Set yourself apart. Include details that showcase your expertise when you’re interacting with guests.
  • Use storytelling. Plan activities that highlight your background and create authentic moments to enjoy with guests.

Debora, who hosts cooking classes at her home in Rome, displays her sommelier and chef certificates to encourage guests to ask questions. She also has a framed photo of her grandmother, who handed down family traditions, on the wall. “We share her stories and recipes,” she says. “The reviews aren’t only about the food, but about how our interactions with the group were fantastic.”

Sharing in the app

The host highlights section of your listing helps build your credibility to convey the quality of the experience you provide. Add more detail to further differentiate yourself and update it when you get new accolades.

  • Write your intro. This appears as your title and indicates how you offer a fresh perspective.
  • Outline your expertise. Your credentials, including degrees and certifications, provide an overview of your skillset.
  • Share your recognition. Honours, awards and notable press coverage help reinforce expertise.

For example, Jib, who hosts a cooking class in Bangkok, writes that she’s a former food columnist. Teresa, who hosts a wine tasting class in Lisbon, writes that she’s a sommelier and certified port educator. And Tommaso, who hosts an art walking tour in Rome, writes that he’s a multidisciplinary artist who’s exhibited in iconic spaces like Fondazione Pastificio Cerere.

All hosts, photos and listing details must meet the standards and requirements for Airbnb Experiences.
