The Lower East Side has a rich music history and heavy concentration of record shops with hard-to-find records. Join me in visting some of my favorites. • We’ll meet in the East Village, at a former landmark record destination. Where I’ll share some music history on the neighborhood, nightlife and vinyl community. • Then head to Ergot Records, where I’ll share a little about my work as a DJ and record shop owner, and then we’ll start digging! • As we explore the neighborhood, I’ll recommend other great shops and music destinations (based on your taste), and talk about how the landscape of record stores (& neighborhoods) in this city have evolved. • We’ll end up at Duty Free Records, where I’ll walk you through my curated collection. Then we’ll have a private listening session—diving into to the albums you’ve just picked up, some of my favorites, or just vibe to whatever you’d like (vinyl preferred). You’ll leave knowing where to pick up new treasures from the shops we visit, plus my tried & true recommendations of where to have the best digs, drinks, bites, and musical experiences.

Mahjong lesson and tea tasting in an NYC photo studio

New York City's mahjong scene has been blowing up recently, but you have to know where to look to find yourself at a table. Join me in my Brooklyn photo studio, where I’ve gathered many friends to learn and play mahjong, and I’ll teach you the ins and outs of this ancient game. • Once you settle in, I’ll pour tea for everyone and tell you a little bit about the game's history. Then I’ll walk you through the basic game—aka chicken hand—rules. • Next, start up a game! I’m prepared to teach total beginners, answering questions and offering guidance throughout. If folks catch on quick or already have some familiarity, I can teach / play the more advanced Hong Kong points-style game. • As you play, I’ll document our gathering with a 3D film camera that creates unique, holographic GIFs. You’ll leave with the mahjong basics, a holographic portrait, and recommendations on where to find some great Asian eats in this part of Brooklyn, if competition has whetted your appetite. ***Please note: the experience requires at least three booked guests, as mahjong requires 4 players!

The Tiny Cupboard's Stand Up Comedy Show

We will go to an abandoned former church in Brooklyn. The show starts and we'll see 5-7 up and coming comics (some great from Netflix, Comedy Central, SNL, and some perhaps still working on improving things) performing 5-10 minute sets. Please don't write a bad review because you didn't like one of the comedians! We book hundreds of comedians for different people and everyone has a different sense of humor. Also, some comics may have material that's adult-oriented, so keep that in mind if you want to bring teens. Follow the meeting location instructions to find it.

It is time to cross "Running over the Brooklyn Bridge" off your bucket list!! Join us to Sweat & Sightsee with a local runner to experience the the dramatic story of how the bridge was built and the great effect it had on the city and America. This is 4 mile (approximately 7 km) tour sections lower Manhattan and the Dumbo section of Brooklyn, including not just the Brooklyn but also Manhattan Bridge as well. There will be exciting stops along the route to interest all runners and will be paced to accommodate all running levels. It is not always about what you see when you are in the city but more the feeling you get as explore at street level, making lasting memories through the stories you hear, the photos we take and our connection through running. You will walk away with a unique perspective of the city, and becasue you get your miles in...feeling like yourself.

Greenwich Village Jazz Tour

Dive into the heart of the underground Greenwich Village jazz scene - visit two local joints on a night of thrilling discovery; meet jazz greats along the way. Gordon has been keeping track of this evolving scene since the 80's - always on the look out for the next Miles Davis or Billie Holiday. To start, meet for a drink in an historic jazz club to get to know each other and relax. Gordon will discuss what's in store for the night - what to look and listen for. City Lights Sail with Brooklyn Sail

2.5 hour sails for up to six passengers from Pier 5 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, One15 Brooklyn Marina, 159 Bridge Park Drive. Views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, Ellis Island, Governor's Island and Manhattan skyline. Guests are welcome to bring any food or drink-- please no red wine or anything that stains or is messy. Great for groups, teams, team-building, if you want to go sailing with friends or family, book an NYC sailing charter, see historic landmarks, or sail away on a fun Statue cruise for a birthday, anniversary, or the perfect date. WEATHER What happens if it rains? If I have to cancel for any bad weather there is a full refund. Generally I play it safe and we only sail if there is a good chance of clear skies. Usually the weather report improves closer to the date and we will never sail if it is unsafe. CANCELLATION Can I reschedule my sail? You are allowed one reschedule 72 hours or before your sailing reservation. No reschedules are allowed within 72 hours of your reservation. If I have to cancel for bad weather there is a full refund--generally I play it safe and we only sail if there is a good chance of clear skies.
