How do Airbnb gift cards work?
Purchasing gift cards
Airbnb gift cards can be purchased at various retailers online and in stores throughout the United States. Online retailers sell both digital cards (these can be emailed to the recipient) and physical cards. Individual gift cards can be purchased in amounts from $25 to $500. Right now, gift cards can only be purchased in US Dollars by individuals in the United States and can only be redeemed by users with a payment method that was issued in the United States.
To order gift cards in bulk, visit our corporate purchasing site. Bulk orders require a $1,000 purchase minimum.
Redeeming gift cards
To redeem a gift card, add the funds from the card balance to your account:
- Go to our gift card redemption page
- Enter the 19-digit card number (numbers only, do not include spaces or dashes)
- Enter the alphanumeric PIN
- Click Redeem gift card
Once a gift card has been added to your Airbnb account, the funds won’t expire.
Gift card funds can be used to pay for most home and experience bookings on Airbnb. When you book, the balance from any gift card funds on your account will be automatically applied.
Gift card funds can’t be used to pay for the following:
- Reservation of 28 nights or more
- Changes to existing reservations
- The second payment, if you choose to pay with the pay less upfront option
Checking the balance
To check your gift card balance, log in to your Airbnb account on your desktop computer or through a browser and go to payment methods in your account. You’ll find a section called Airbnb gift credit with the current balance. Click Show details to review a list of gift cards applied to your account.
