Set cancellation policies directly from your calendar

You can apply different cancellation policies to specific date ranges right from your calendar. This gives you the flexibility to protect earnings during peak periods and offer more flexible terms when demand isn’t as high. These dynamic policies are totally optional—if you don't set any, your short-term stay listing cancellation policy will stay in effect.

Applying date-specific cancellation policies

You can edit or remove a short-term stay cancellation policy for a specific date any time in your Calendar.

  1. Choose your desired dates on the calendar
  2. Select any available cancellation policy
  3. The chosen cancellation policy will be applied based on the guest's check-in date
    • If the booking spans two different policies, the policy associated with the check-in date will apply
    • Changes in the check in date may alter the cancellation policy that applies; if a guest sends an alteration request, you still need to approve the alteration

Each new change overrides the last one for those dates. Existing bookings keep the policy in effect when they were made.

How to set short-term stay cancellation policies for specific dates

The cancellation policy will be displayed to guests searching for homes based on check-in dates.

Set your cancellation policy on desktop

  1. Click Calendar and select the listing calendar you want to change
  2. Select the dates you want to adjust
  3. Click Custom settings
  4. Click Cancellation policy and make your selection
  5. Click Save and then click Done

Key points to remember

  • Dynamic policies are optional and you can make changes anytime to unbooked dates
  • Any changes you make to your cancellation policy will only apply to future reservations and won’t affect any pending or confirmed reservations
  • The cancellation policy that was set when you received a reservation will still apply to that reservation
  • Removing a dynamic policy reverts those dates to your short-term stay listing cancellation policy
